How to drive in a roundabout, KI WATCH THIS PLEASE « Thread Started on Mar 21, 2009, 6:50pm »
Look I realize that 99.9% of you people have never been in a foreign country or even 'across that bridge' but you now have a honest to goodness roundabout and you all need some edumacation on how to navigate it.
The idea is to keep traffic flowing, so just pretend that there is a stop sign and roll right on through like you all do in your own neighborhood.
Please watch this video and when the funny talkin wimmin says 'left' think 'right' and vice versa. -DG

I like to say that I travel I-18 (rt.18) and I got held up at the KIB (kent island beltway).
Roundabouts also offer a few other things beside keeping traffic moving: Helps avoid high speed crashes; (the red light runners and green light anticipaters). People keep their eyes on the road where the cars are and not looking up at traffic lights while moving. There's a natural tendency for people to slow down and be more cautious and aware of other traffic. Conserves fuel; no idling vehicles or hard accelerations at take off.
It's too bad that the KIB is not larger. Bigger ones seem to work better; like the one at church circle in Annapolis, downtown Georgetown, DE, etc. There are definitely people who just can't manage it well, not sure why.
