Is there anything affordable to buy within close proximity to downtown anymore?

I saw that the place at Chinquapin Rnd Rd. and west st. had to offer "affordable" housing, with a rule that you had to live there for 10 years, and couldn't rent it out. I guess that was to keep the investors off of some of the units. If that's true they are probably all gone by now.
I doubt there's any "real" affordable housing around, at least that's livable?
