The Annapolis Police Department will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on Rowe Blvd. at Taylor Ave on Friday - Saturday, April 13th - 14th, 2007 from 6PM to 1AM.
Attention, Media recipients: Please publish this as a traffic advisory even if not used as a news item. The courts require us to pre-announce sobriety checkpoints.

Wouldn't it make more sense to wait until 2:15AM when everyone is leaving the bars? I guess that all other crime in Annapolis has been done away with. People in Robinwood, Admiral Heights, Clay Street, and Annapolis Gardens rejoice! Since nobody will be selling drugs, shooting each other, or assaulting women, the police have nothing else better to do now but set up road blocks to make money for the state. Hooray that the police work has eradicated the scum from the bad areas so much so that they have nothing better to do than hope for a DUI...

The courts require us to pre-announce sobriety checkpoints. That HAS to be The single, stupidest, most ignorant law (or requirement of the courts) on the books it's like announcing a surprise inspection....
