So I am thinking that I want to demolish my house and start over.... Any suggestions on new home builders? I do like my lot...just not my house anymore!!
But DH says we should just rent out the house and build elsewhere....(prolly like Texas....lol)
I am thinking it would be more cost effective to transform the current one....

Hmmm.. I understand where you are.. I think we all get there sometime! Maybe what you should do is talk to a builder/remodeler about what can be done with your current home to make it more livable and enjoyable for your tastes?? Complete demolition and removal of debris can be expensive. Might be able to use most of the current bones of your house and do something special. Lots of local builders are looking for work these days. Best regards and good luck!

That's a good idea!!! Doesn't hurt to talk to the builders!!!
I didn't fully think about the demolishing and removal........I guess it would be more than just a few trips to the dump!! LOL!! geesh...I am such a girl...sometimes!!!

We would love to do the same thing. If the house caught fire and burned to the ground, I wouldn't be super-upset! Insurance would build a new one where the old one sat, well insulated, modern everything, etc. I'd hate to lose all my crap though.

So if the pods sitting outside my house with all my stuff safely stored away might raise the eyebrows of the insurance company if my house where to be heavily damaged by a fallen tree or fire? You think? Cause I don't wanna lose my stuff either....LOL!! well some of it can go...LOL!!

I demolished my house and built new in Bay City 3 years ago and very glad I went that route. PM me and I'll give you name of designer and builder (both local). They both did a great job. 7 months from tear down to move in.

They do make asphalt and concrete that let water flow through so it would not count as impervious surface. In fact, the new McD's has their lot made out of it.
