Anyone heard anything about the pub they are putting into the old Julia's location by the courthouse? I'm glad they seem to be doing it right this time. I have said for years that is a great spot for a pub or bar. I have looked online but have yet to find anything on it.

From February 5, 2013 Liquor BOard minutes:
"The Board held a hearing on the application for the transfer of a Class B, Beer, Wine and Liquor License for Walter Spurrier LeCompte, 3rd, on behalf of O Shucks Bar, Inc., trading as O Shucks Irish Pub. Joseph H. Rouse, Esq. appeared on behalf of the applicant. Mr. Thompson reviewed the file and it was determined that the items needed for the file to be complete are a copy of the Trader’s License and approvals from the Fire Marshal and Health Dept. A motion was made by Mr. Dashiell, seconded by Mr. Pryor, to approve the issuance of the license upon receipt of these items by the Clerk. Mr. LeCompte understands that he will be required to pay one-half of the license fee ($500) from now until the normal renewal date of May 1, 2013. No one appeared in opposition to the issuance of the license."
Looks like it is moving along..

Yeah BC I saw that too, and was glad to hear it
I'm just surprised they don't have a website, but maybe they are waiting until all the approvals go through.
Can't wait to check it out

The owners are experienced restauranters that live here in QAC. I believe they also own Coconut Joes in Edgewater. I wish them luck, the sign is nice I saw it today.

When they get open, let's do a welcome to QA social. We can take notes and then post reviews on KIO! (But the reviews are limited to cat talk about KIO members looks)

I'm surprised they have no "page" either. I am hoping they make it....

Oshucks is open. Went last night and the place was full. They have a great menu. Place feels comfortable.
It will take some time to work out the kinks with the wait staff. They seemed to be overwhelmed last night.
But, I will go back. Looking forward to trying the Bangers and Mash. And the Shepherds Pie, Fish and Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and a host of other items that looked great! And, the dishes I saw come out of the kitchen were presented very nicely.
I will go back.

Went again last night and got the Fish and Chips and a Guiness. Wife got the Shepherds Pie.. Fish and chips were some of the best I have ever had. Shepherds Pie was very good! I think the owners are going to be wishing they had found a larger space..

I've been to Docs and Good Guys in Centreville. We like Good Guys. It's a good backroads motorcycle ride. Where is O'Shucks? I didn't know where Julia's was.

Good Guys is on Water Street...going N on 213 when you get in to town, make a right at the first traffic light. It's on the left, past the post office and western auto that's on the right, if you get to the sheriffs office, you went to far.

The owners also just opened Blackthorn Irish Pub in St Michaels too, so when you're in St Michaels on a day trip, check it out. Can't wait to go to both! Blackthorn Irish Pub's tag line I love "the pub you've been training for" www.facebook.com/%23!/pages/Blackthorn-Irish-Pub/370697649709571%3Ffref%3Dts&sa=U&ei=aFJDUdDxCZe14AOVnYGwBg&ved=0CBoQFjAA&usg=AFQjCNFDb5I1XglobtoirzCq8PeugutEZw

Nice place, as long as there isn't a game on. The sports fans make the place pretty loud.

My wife and I ventured out to O'Shucks last night. Very busy as you'd expect on on St. Patty's eve. In spite of a packed house the staff kept a smile on their face. Table wait was an hour, but we were able to snag 2 seats at the bar. We ordered a Reuben egg roll, appetizer, delicious! A meal by itself. Getting in the holiday spirit we stay with the Irish fare. I had the Bangers & Mash and my wife had the Shepards Pie. As close to home made as you can get. Tasty and flavorful. We'll be back!

We got there around 5, and were seated within minutes. The line after us grew quickly though.
The manager or owner was going round checking in everything.
I was impressed by how well things went for opening week on St Patricks day weekend.
The fish and chips was excellent.

We went today, St Patrick's day. They were busy and we waited 20 min for a table, the bar was full. I got the Ruben egg roll and my wife got the corn beef sandwich. The egg roll was good and filling, her sandwich was Homeric! Guess what I get for lunch tomorrow ;-)
