This explains a lot! DNR drove by just as we lit a nice bon fire at my folks house in KI estates. Then a few minutes later QACSO gyro copter kept flying over.

I am friends with Robin. She lives right on the water, I hope she did not fall in, as no one would have seen or heard her at 2300. Her dog was extremely old for the breed (12 years I think) and would not do well in the water. Hope she is OK.

From Annapolis patch:
State troopers and sheriff’s deputies are continuing their investigation into the suspicious disappearance of a Queen Anne’s County woman who has been missing for the past two days.
The woman is identified as Robin L. Pope, 51, of Stevensville, Md. She is described as a white female, 5’4”, 105 lbs., with brown hair. Until December 2012, Pope had been residing with her husband, Wayne A. Pope Jr., in the 100-block of Beach Road, Stevensville. The couple separated in December and Robin Pope had been staying at a residence owned by a female friend on Kent Island.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on March 2, 2013, the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Operations Center received a call from Wayne Pope, who reported suspicious circumstances involving his wife. When Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Wayne Pope’s home, he told them his wife Robin had come to the home late Friday night to retrieve some belongings. After she arrived, he left the home. When he returned to the home early Saturday morning, he found his wife’s black 2011 Infinity still parked in the driveway, but she was not at the residence. He also said his dog, a Great Dane, was missing. Deputies found Robin Pope’s keys, purse, credit cards, and cash still in her vehicle.
Deputies entered Robin Pope into the National Crime Information Center database as a missing person and information was forwarded to area law enforcement agencies. They interviewed relatives and friends as they continued the search for Pope. A deputy responded to a residence in the vicinity of the Pope’s home, where their dog was found dead near the pier, with obvious trauma to the upper torso. The dog’s body has been taken to the Queen Anne’s County Humane Society pending further investigation.
On the evening of March 2, 2013, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigation Bureau and requested troopers take the lead in this investigation. Troopers from the State Police Homicide Unit and Criminal Enforcement Division responded and have been working the investigation since. Assistance is being provided by troopers from the Centreville Barrack, as well as Natural Resources Police officers and Queen Anne County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
State Police investigators and crime scene technicians are continuing to examine the location where Robin Pope was last seen. The Maryland State Police dive team will be conducting a search of the Chesapeake Bay in the area of the scene today, assisted by a State Police helicopter and marine units from the Natural Resources Police and the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about Robin Pope is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Centreville Barrack at 410-758-1101. Callers may remain confidential.

I don't know her and hope and pray for the best for her. Am I watching too many crime solvers' shows on TV, or does the husband's story sound strange? Reading the report posted by mrsbmom, the poor dog suffered some kind of trauma? Someone purposefully harmed the dog?

Robin put up my white fence a few years ago and she owns 'Island Fence'. Although I only spoke with her twice, she made an impression as a no nonsense woman. Upon meeting her, I thought she was an attractive lady that wore work boots. She was physically fit. She mentioned to me that she hurt her back in the gym on the first visit. She said she was doing weight training. Robin seemed very rational when I met her in regards to business stuff. My fence was put up in 3 days, and following her workers putting up the fence, she collected the check. My guess is that she wore the pants in the relationship.

Let's all say a prayer for her safe return. This certainly is very suspicious and unsettling to happen in our community of Kent Island. The County Sheriff's office and State Police are very good. If anyone has any leads or ideas, you should contact them directly. They also will be discreet regarding tips you gave.

She did not wear the pants in the family. Her husband also owned his own Business...I have known Robin for at least 10 years if not longer than that as I met her when my oldest son was still in high school. She is a very rational person...and very business oriented. She also put up my fence as no one could touch her price or time period. She is my friend..and a wonderful person. I pray to God they find her and she is safe. Out of respect for her daughters I won't speculate about details that are being written in the news...as look at how wrong they were with Sandy Hook Elementary when they reported that in the beginning. I will wait until there is an arrest to voice my opinion. Its just very upsetting.

The fact that no public warnings to lock doors and windows and stay vigilant in the area makes it obvious that the estranged husband is suspected in foul play. I would love to be wrong though and see her found safe and sound - she sounds like a dynamic woman.

The husband was the last on to see her alive? I don't think she was capable of beating her own dog to death? Right now all fingers point to the husband.

@deep Sea- if you gave viable information share it with the police. If not, please out of respect to Robin, Robin's family and friends keep your opinions to yourself. They have enough to deal with at this time. It is very disrespectful and classless to speak of matters you know nothing about.

Robin is my friend...and speculation never helps...ever. This is in the MSP's hands..and I trust they will find her. I agree with you wholeheartedly...Yesterday I saw her youngest daughter had responded on the QAC Sheriffs page...broke my heart that she had to read some of the crap that people wrote on there...speculations...their own spin on things etc. I hope they find her...safe...

I had to edited beat to beating. Sorry if it upset anyone. I was just making a statement on the last person who saw Robin alive.

The news is reporting the MSP Criminal/Homicide Unit has taken the lead on the investigation, it's natural to speculate on suspects knowing that unit has become involved. I haven't seen much in the way of any updates today, is the search still active in KIE?

I live in KIE and have seen news vehicles and also a helicopter about an hour ago just going in circles around the area.

I'm guessing they haven't done any searches of the neighborhood, our renters on Virginia Road didn't even know anything about it.
