After riding bicycle 200 miles on the road this year, I have come to conclusion that road riding a bicycle is exponentially more dangerous than motorcycle riding.
As a cyclist, it is just a matter of time before a SUV takes you out.
Here is a video of my ride today. I rode 25 miles about 10 miles on the road, and 15 miles on the bike path.
Heading south on route 8 Near love point ( North end of Kent Island. ) around 11AM.

Thank you for keeping it short. I see a lot of these videos that are 10-20 minutes long, leaving the viewer to sit and wait or search for the goods.
As someone who rides a mountain bike and a motorcycle in DC traffic, I would say they both have their own unique dangers.

That's why they built the bike path! Cars and bicycles don't share the road well.

Personally I feel if there are NO shoulders there should be NO bikes on the road. If you can't peddle 40 mph then get off the road. On 18 in Centreville perfect example of me almost taking out a bike. Come around curve... I am NOT even speeding...I come around curve and there is bike...I slam on brakes to not hit him as there is NO shoulder AND there is car in opposing lane. No shoulder...No bikes that should be the rule.

Agree, if you can't operate a motor vehicle safely in the lanes of traffic, you don't belong there. Cops ticket folks all the time that drive their golf carts, 4 wheelers, dune buggies, minibikes, etc. on roads because they say they are not "road worthy or have all the safety devices of a motor vehicle". Why in the h3ll are bikes allowed on the road in the lanes of traffic then? Tight fitting pants and pretty bright colored shirts don't give you an exception to the law.

Seven months to come up with a response and this is all you got? If we all lived across the street from our jobs, life would be grand. However, that's not reality. Cars and bikes don't share the road well. Most roads were built without the forethought of bicyclists riding along side 3500lb vehicles. Check out the video again. There is no place for a bike to ride except in the vehicle lanes. It's just not safe. That's why bicyclists get hit by cars.
