Curious if anyone else has tried them yet? We went there for the second time over the weekend. Wife got the "catch of the day" cod and liked it quite a bit. I went with the ribs. I would say I have had better ribs in my life but not bad and a good deal for the price. Drink prices were very reasonable.
Only problem I saw is that there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant. This was Saturday night, a little late (9pm) but I was still surprised there weren't more folks there. If only two tables at 9pm on Saturday I wonder if they are going to survive. My gut tells me they won't, which is really unfortunate. If they fold I think that place will sit empty for a long time to come.
Any other experiences with Georgie's anyone can give? Maybe they draw an earlier crowd there - at least that's what I'm hoping. Overall a good restaurant I would recommend...

Sounds ordinary....need something to attract people! Based on your description, no one is rushing over.
So close to water, so far from fresh seafood.

Been there.. same old story of too many restaurants in the county. Food was not bad.. cream of crab was pretty good. Mashed potatoes were real good. Seafood dinner was about average for the area but overprioed. But, the killer once again was lousy service. Our server was about as efficient and friendly as a prison guard. And I hate to say it, but we ate upstairs and the bar had a collection of drunks who were distracting. I know, we could have eaten downstairs, but the downstairs area seems like a dungeon to me. Now I don't consider this a bash. It is a statement of fact. I think the issue with a lot of local startup restaurants is they don't have the resources to put out before the door is opened to hire and train enough staff including servers. You can't open a restaurant with one server who has never had a waiter job before, and has the personality of a slug and expect to grow your business. It's like any bar. A good bartender is worth their weight in gold. A surly, inattentive bartender will run the business away. Gus knew how to deal with one:

Try the downstairs BC. I have never had any problems with the service in the restaurant. I think this place has potential but their prices are just a bit high. If they added some more moderately prices menu items they might get more repeat business. I hope it survives, we don't need more empty retail space in Centreville.
