To the FCC and FAA; For the sanity of all, please do not allow the cell phone rules to be changed on commercial flights.
Thank you.

Well, thank goodness I don't have to fly much these days, but I cannot imagine how annoying it would be on an airplane stuck beside or behind or in front of someone incessantly talking loud on the cell phone. Many people seem to think they have to yell in the phone to be heard.. It's bad enough stuck in a tiny little narrow airplane seat with a 300 pound guy or gal beside you that has not had a bath in the last week but to add an irritating sounding voice and a long winded call to the misery would likely cause more than one confrontation in the cabin!! Bad idea.. However, I would support non-voice, ie. text activity on cell phones. But silenced phones only, no stupid ring tones!

Unlimited texting would be ok. How about a 3 or 5 minute maximum call duration or something like that?

Agree with RM - Data ONLY, NO voices!
I have reached the point where I can hardly stand to listen to someone I know talking on their cell phone. Just sitting in the terminal is pure misery! Most people use a decimal level similar to those who work for/with the elderly - always assuming the recepient is hard of hearing. The rest just have the need to be heard by every other waking-human within 3 miles!
If this idea becomes a reality, it will not last. One or two "incidents" is all it will take to return to common sense.
I can't wait to share my husband's take on it all...at least for those who would be interested in the opinion of a reputable member of the Industry. You might be surprised how quickly the Captain/Co-Pilot will land a commercial aircraft...
