Too bad county residents aren't excluded or given a huge discount since we already pay county taxes

It wouldn't bother me if it went to a cleanup program or fund a patrol unit for the parks... but I'm sure the money is going to be pissed away.

"Proceeds collected from this program will be used to provide additional services needed to keep the parks clean and safe." Actually, proceeds collected from the program will end up paying for the salaries of the county employees that will be collecting these ridiculous fees. What a joke!

This tax is BS. The people that live in QA County should not have to pay for this tax. We pay enough. More over we have to deal with the illegals that leave there crap. Get rid of of the current board and our Governor. God forbid he becomes Pres.

Moreover, term limits preclude the Governor from running again. Plus the picture you posted is not from here, misleading and xenophobic.

Not the first time that picture has been posted, not even U.S., look at the front vehicle tag. Additionally, I seriously doubt that the majority of the ethnic group being targeted here are actually illegal. They just need a temporary escape from PeeGee County. I totally agree that it would be appreciated if all visitors to our beautiful island were more respectful and considerate of our local environment, which includes overnight sleeping and littering our beaches. That goes for residents too. I live in a fairly nice community, no roving bands of "illegals", just BMW's, etc. and I pick trash up from the side of the road in front of my house all the time.

MORE CRAP, just another money grab.
They can't, won't or just don't enforce the rules there now. Collecting money will help that?
I just love how some people, and most of our government thinks collecting money from people or throwing money at a problem can fix it.
Watch the usage go down, and the same old problem persist..
It'll pay for the county workers to clean it up? THEY DON'T CLEAN IT UP, See the volunteer group on here? THEY are cleaning them up.
$$$ $$$ $$$ $$$

The users don't clean up, the county/state/you name it will not take responsibility for the trash cleanup, the police won't police it. This is not going to make the abusers stop. They need to be policed and fined...the abusers, not everyone else. It's nice that there are volunteers willing to pick up other people's filth, but they should not have to. Really, neither should govt. employees. Make people take responsibility for the places they use and that others would like to use, too.

I was pissed about this at first too, but it could be a good thing. $35 a year is chump change, but it might be enough to keep at least some of the riff raff out. Also, since there's money involved, there will probably be more of a Police presence.

Also, since there's money involved, there will probably be more of a Police presence. Two problems: Problem # 1 is that there is plenty of riff raff with money. Problem # 2 is that these chump politicians will have more of our change to waste. What's next? User fees to use the kiddie parks?

Our county officials are acting alot like O'Malley with the nickel and diming. Maybe they need term limits, as well. Seriously? I guess if I want to help the beach clean up people, I will now have to pay to do so. Just does not feel right.

everyone calm down it's $35 for a yearly pass... nothing to get worked up about! Slippery slope ... it is an expansion of taxes, hidden as a fee -- and one that is largely unenforceable and which will only be paid by the people who are not the problem.

Exactly, how many more additions, and increases can we be handed?
