So as I was driving over the bridge this weekend and staring out at the beach at Sandy Point State Park, I was wondering what the experience over there is like (I've never been since our beaches are closer and were, until recently, free, but thought I might check it out at a non-busy time).

I haven't been in a long time, but from what I remember it was pretty terrible. Crowded, weird orange sand, etc...

Ten bucks to get in, weird orange sand, and the bigotry of this forum never ceases to amaze.

Question asked & answered! It is what it is! It is expensive to get in, although the beach is tractor raked every day the sand is pretty nasty, if you can get past those things you still have the nasty water, which if I might add isnt just here. The water in the BAY is just like a huge septic tank. Good luck in your search for a nice beach & good water anywhere around here...........
