I have been to the love point deli recently and have noticed that it takes a very long time to get your order after they wait on you. So I talked to the Owner. He stated that they are very busy and that orders for sliced meat have a low priority and that if I want sliced meat it may take 15 , 20 , or 30 minutes to fill my order. Also while I was there I saw an employee stuff lunch meat in her mouth and then , with the same rubber gloves go back to slicing someones order. This happened not once but twice while I was standing there for over 15 minutes. From the attitude of the owner I'm glad to see as long as they have call in orders they don't need people that walk in the front door. I will not be back nor will any body that I know of can relate this story to.

I tend to go in waves, have a very slow experience like the one you mentioned, and then don't return for a very long period of time. Their Boar's Head meats to me are superior to what you can get at the local grocery stores, but there are a few places in Annapolis that sell the stuff, as well (Giant, Giolitti, Grauls, and Italian Market I believe all sell it). My understanding is that deli owners don't make a large profit on the sliced meats (particularly Boar's Head) when sold by the pound. That may in part explain the situation. From the length of your wait, the employee should have instead offered you a sample.

I've only had it take a while when it's crowded like for a lunch rush

Gotta love pointless attacks on a local business. Don't like the customer service speed at Love Point Deli? Easy: go elsewhere. What does it benefit to vent petty attacks online?
This thread is particularly amusing from a new member who just two days ago, in his/her second post ever, groused "we don't take kindly to (negative remarks) about our restaurants."
When did we all become such whiny, spiteful egomaniacs that we believe our every irritation merits public grievances and protests? Maybe worry more about the trash coming out of your mouth than is going into someone else's.

Like any business anywhere, they have good days and bad days when it comes to service. I'll continue to patronize them because they carry quality products that I like, AND the owners are extremely generous to community organizations, youth athletics, etc.

Ok, fair enough. No more beating up on local businesses. Can we still pick on Safeway, though?

I thought this was an open forum? Perhaps you stepped on someone's toes. The distinction between censorship and simple discretion is increasingly hard for people to understand. Just because it's an open forum doesn't mean every petty frustration is worthy of vomiting out for public consumption. Save your bile for something worthwhile, chicken littles.

Same here. I've been patronizing the establishment since they opened and have never encountered a problem of any kind. I have always found the owners and staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Just my experiences.

I'm not a regular customer there, but I've never had a problem when I have been there. The "New Orleans" wrap is very tasty and they have a good cheese selection...

I stop there at least once a week and have had absolutely no problems. Yes it takes longer during the lunch rush, deal with it. I find it amazing how some people will have one bad experience and vow to never patronize an establishment ever again.

And since they're the only real deli around with good meat, take it or leave it!

Over the years I have shopped at Love Point Deli. In that past I bought platters of sandwiches and accompaniments for my Customers. I have helped out with many local fundraisers over the years. I stopped in some months ago and asked the Owner if could place a small container for ticket sales for the Cruise Safe Event. The Owner was a total AH and I will never set foot in his business again. I was not asking for any contributions or donations, I was asking to place a 5" round container for ticket sales. Love Point Deli was the only local business out of 25 that refused to help us educate local kids to drive safely. Fortunately with the help of every other local businesses helping us out we had about 350 people attend the Event. If a local business refuses to support a very local fundraiser, I will return the favor. I have spent allot of money there in the past on platters to feed 20 to 30 people at a time. The Owner has every right to refuse to support local non profit Organizations but we have the right to shop elsewhere. There were about 15 folks involved with putting on this Event and they were made fully aware of the people and business' who supported our efforts (they were also informed of the one business that refused any help).

The owners of the deli have donated money, time and land (yes land)to charitable causes in this community. Like any story, I'm sure there are two other sides not told here.

This is only from my perspective as to my interaction with the Owner. I asked politely for help and not for any money or contribution. Maybe he was having a bad day. However, all it takes is once to be the recipient of abusive and needless mean behavior and I will do my business elsewhere. Business 101: Do not offend your Customer base especially in a small Community. I feel that if he was thoughtful he would have realized what he did was wrong and did not think of all the money I spent in his establishment in the past. He should be lauded for past support of Community events. However, there was no excuse for his behavior that day. When I first introduced myself I asked him if he remembered the 4 kids who died in a car accident 11 months before and a group of us were trying to help avoid such accidents in the future by education. HE TOLD ME HE WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FOUR KIDS DYING AND PLEAD IGNORANCE! You could imagine my opinion of him at that point but I remained polite. No, our Family and Friends will not frequent Love Point Deli. I do not wish him ill will but I can decide where I spend my money!
