Mitch the owner is a great person in our community. He donated his time as an assistant coach for youth soccer, taught and influenced many young peoples lives as teacher at Q.A.C.H.S. including my own. If you want to call somebody out because they would not put something up for your charity and tell people not to support a business because he would not support yours is childish. Business 101, you can't make everyone happy! I guess we know who the real AH is now topfish. I would not and will not support your charity either because of your comments.

Every person, owner or employee, that I have had interaction with, on my weekly or more often visits, has ALWAYS been polite and professional. I do not think every business can support every charity that knocks on its door, either by space, signs, money, or time. I don't use charitable contributions as a reason for shopping in a certain store.

I'll be at the Love Point Deli today buying a pound of Virginia Baked Ham, A pound of turkey and a pound of pepper jack cheese. Buns and chips and maybe a ice tea or two. I love this place.

If I understand correctly, this person was asking to put a container at the checkout/cash register area? I see a lot of problems with this, as I'm sure the owner did as well. First, it gets very crowded in there at certain times and how are his staff supposed to monitor whether or not the container is still there? So easy for someone to take off with it. Second, if he gives the OK to one charity for a container at his cash register, he would need to say yes to all of them. Then, there wouldn't be room at the checkout for the cookies. Or the brownies. Or the other stuff there that I end up buying as an impulse purchase. Seriously.....this owner is to be commended for his charity, let it alone.

keep bashing local businesses. maybe you guys can contribute to even more closings. how about not returning to those businesses that you don't approve of and let us decide for ourselves if we choose to frequent them.

keep bashing local businesses. maybe you guys can contribute to even more closings. how about not returning to those businesses that you don't approve of and let us decide for ourselves if we choose to frequent them. Let me ask the question: Why isn't it OK to come here and call out someone in business for being rude, or worse if an employee is eating the product while they are slicing a customers order? You can still decide if you believe it, or not, and act as you wish. What am I Missing here? I'm GLAD it was posted. I know they do a lot cor the community, and I like LPD and frequent it for my beer and a sandwich now and then. That being said, it's does NOT let them off the hook for bad customer service, or unhealthy practices. PERIOD. I'll be looking a little closer behind the counter thanks to this thread, and if I see a similar feat I'll call them out right then & there and proceed accordingly depending on their reaction.
