Finally got around to checking out the Pour House Pub. Definitely on our 'we will return' list. Service was excellent, food was good and we sat outside which was very pleasant last night. Plus the prices were reasonable.

Refreshing to see positive comments on here. Bashing local businesses seemed to be rampant on here in the past. Lets try to be positive or keep your negative comments to yourselves. These are people trying to make a living. I didn't know this place was in business. I will give it a try.

Agee......there are as many positive comments as negative comments on this forum; most based on an individuals opinion with respect to their experiences with local business. As with any social media that provides an opportunity to comment, you would see the same thing. I would be the first to support local businesses as long as they provide a quality and fair product......if they fail to, don't let the door hit 'em on the way out. Both positive and negative comments are welcome, as long as they meet the stipulations or rules of conduct, if you will, of the forum administrator. Those that don't meet those are most times removed. Interesting after only 2 posts by you on the forum, you tell folks to keep negative comments to themselves, but than again you are welcome to your opinion.

"probably shouldn't be taking advise on restaurants from a guy making a living digging ditches. always consider your source." Really Agee? Are you suggesting that people who earn a living "digging ditches" don't have good taste in food or deserve to be heard? Ridiculous! What are you an uptight suit stuck in an office?

They always say that truck drivers know the best spots. I'm inclined to believe that.

didn't say anything is wrong with ditch diggers. I still do it today. I will say business bashers need to keep their negative opinions to themselves. How would they like someone to monitor them at work and report all of their mistakes to the public on this forum. People have families to support.

Delicious food of high quality!
Some of the best places to eat are truck stops.

Pour House is GREAT - we go there weekly As for negative opinions, if someplace has crap food and service I will mention it and they can improve if they want to stay in business.

Look around here and you'll find lots of positive comments on plenty of local businesses. What you call bashing is also called a review. If there was lipstick on your coffee mug, when it was served to you..... would you drink it? Would you go back? I thank all the comments, good and bad for the heads up on what to expect or reasons not to go.

I would go back if the only problem was lipstick on my coffee cup. If people like you only knew what else went on in the kitchen, out of your sight, you'd never eat out. Are you that naïve ? Lipstick on your coffee cup should be the least of your concerns. .

I'd tell the waiter/waitress and ask for a different cup.

The problem on this forum is that people expect businesses to be perfect, and for some reason restaurants more then anything else. Every business has its problems and never is 100% perfect. In my opionion, when you get on this forum and start a thread bashing a restaurant, a local business, a persons livelyhood, a persons dream, what does that say about you?. Restaurants have a low succes rate because of the standard people hold them to of perfection and appealing to everyone. Again NO business is perfect and can not appeal or cater to everyone. I have No respect any person who gets on here as a new member, or yelp, or trip advisor or any other website and complains about a business. Unless there complaint was voiced to the manager/owner, was not an opionion, and was a legitamate complaint. I think the internet has become a place for a high percentage of lazy people (Most Americans) to complain about something or anything that they feel they know everything about but do not know much at all. Just because you eat out sometimes or a lot, JUST BECAUSE YOU EAT, DOES NOT MAKE YOU A FOOD CRITIC OR CONNISOUR OF HOW TO OWN OPERATE OR BE A CHEF OF A RESTAURANT. If you want an honest opionion of a good restaurant, ask a person who has worked in a restaurant. Not someone who just eats at them.

This is just a fact of life for practically all businesses and professions. For example, doctors, dentists, and lawyers have people who know absolutely nothing about their fields that write them critical reviews, and I have friends who are teachers who have to put up with illiterate students that attempt to write them poor reviews on ratemyprofessor.com.

I actually think negative posts on sites like this, yelp, amazon, and tripadvisor are very important. Most businesses/managers go onto those sites and read them and if they don't they probably won't do well. I've been on all those websites and have seen negative and positive comments and the business will respond to them.
I do however take negative comments with a grain of salt. Generally if someone really had a bad experience with a product or restaurant they will go out of their way to complain. If 10 people have a horrible experience maybe half of them will find a way to "expose" or complain out the issue. However most people like me if I have excellent service I don't really think to go online and tell about how great it was.
But think about when R's opened up years ago. there were sooooooo many bad reviews on here. I imagine that the business owner/manager noticed a lot of complaints and tried to fix them. Before R's closed most folks like it and said it had vastly improved.
I'm willing to bet the owners and managers of Pour House pub are reading this thread now trying to see if they can improve.
