They should show it in flood stage. Their design is not inspired by water, etc., as they state, but, rather, by $$$$$$

That's a lot better looking than the buildings that are there currently... may actually draw business in.

If it's at the old outlets it will be another Douglas slum ( Jamal) in my opinion. The guy is a piece of s[HASH]&t! I dealt with him before on some property, never again. Best thing is too never let him build on the shore and send him back to where he came from.

My wife managed a store there back when it was an outlet. Her store backed up to the water. When the wind and phase of the moon was correct the water would come up even with the road that ran in back of the stores. Several times it even came in under the doors of those shops. The water that was run to the stores was undrinkable. Everyone took bottled water.
Since then all we have heard is how much the level of the bay has risen, if that is true, then they need to raise the level of the land and secure that with retaining walls.
Looking at the pretty pictures, there doesn't seem to be any place for parking. Are they planning for parking garages for the people they want to live and shop there?
We have plenty of empty retail space already on the island, do we need more sitting empty?

Looking at the pretty pictures, there doesn't seem to be any place for parking. Are they planning for parking garages for the people they want to live and shop there? We have plenty of empty retail space already on the island, do we need more sitting empty? Look at the areas shown as parking on the overhead view, more specifically the shadows that are cast from it like they're multi-level. I'm all for redevelopment of existing commercial property on the island. Without redevelopment and bringing places up to date nobody in their right mind would lease the space. Just like the ACME building on the island, it's in such rough shape that a tear down and rebuild would work better than trying to refurbish it. Not to mention the parking layout of that whole center is terrible. The people leasing said property also need to realize that until the economy is better and businesses are well established in the area you can't charge astronomic amounts for ground rent. Unless someone steps up and decides to gamble to make things better and have hope it will bring in business nothing will get better.
