Very nicely decorated and open to both sides. We sat at the bar for a late lunch I had the chicken wrap and my wife had the chicken casadia. My wife is not overly excited over Mexican food but enjoyed both dishes. I agreed with her and the salsa and chips were good as well. My only question that I need to get clarified on our next trip is the all day happy hour. I had a Sam Adams pint and they said it was 1/2 off happy hour but it rang up as $4.50. If this is half price I can't imagine paying $9 for a pint anywhere. Might just be a marketing gimmick. Anyway I think we will go back.

A bunch of us went there last night. Good service and everyone enjoyed their meal. Two different managers/owners stopped by to ask if everything was good.

I'm just guessing here, but most places I have gone to do not include Sam Adams in happy hour prices. It's usually considered a "premium" beer and most places just have "domestics" discounted - which is a Mexican place will usually mean the normal Lite, Bud, and something like Dos Exis. Glad you had a good experience there. I'm looking forward to trying out the new place. Heck it will soon be the only place left in Acme plaza.

The last time we went there (prior to the move/ name change) we thought the same thing about the happy hour pricing BUT it was the way their receipts rings them up ... It shows a discount at the bottom of the receipt. It was very confusing.

Not the case with my receipt. $4.50 in not a bad price for a SA beer I just can't imagine it going nine bills. Very nicely decorated and open to both sides. We used to get lunch at Sombrero often. They day the new place opened we ordered something similar to what we normally get as the menu had changed. Was not nearly as good. So El Heffe is off our lunch rotation. I'll try them at dinner time soon. Hoping i can find some good stuff on the menu. Really is bizarre to build a brand, have something good, then change it and start all over. I do love me some mexican though!!

My wife and I were big fans of Sombrero's so we were pretty excited about the new venture at El Heffe. We had dinner there last week and were disappointed some of our favorites didn't make it to the new menu. The fish taco's only come fried now with different ingredients. We asked for broiled fish, but was told it wasn't available. very disappointing. I always like the Fish platter, Tilapia with mushrooms and squash in a sauce with some heat. Not on the new menu. My son tried the Tilapia offering ont the new menu and it was bland as bland could be. no spice, really no flavor. I went with the chicken fajitas and it looks like they are pre cooking the chicken as it was dry as dry could be. I hope they step up their game as we really like the place. Need to bring some fresh ingredients in, fish (come on, we are surrounded by water!)cook to order fajitas (that means the chicken) and get some flavor around the other fish dish. I am sure they are still working the kinks out, but hopefully they are also listening to feedback. I filled the card out with the above comments.

I didn't. See above, the poster who pointed out that casadia is not the correct spelling of quesadilla. I guess people can get upset at more than one person. Or, they can make an effort, huh?! (I do realize ur winking)

Excuse me alleycat, Jefe means boss. Pablo Escobar wasn't the chief, he was the boss otherwise known as El Jefe. synonym: boss director (noun) 64 results: administrator, band master, baron, captain, chief, commandant, commander, conductor, dean, director, executive, foreman, general, governor, king, leader, magistrate, manager, mayor, officer, overlord, overseer, queen, ringleader, ringmaster, ruler, superintendent, supervisor, taskmaster, warden www.thesaurus.net/boss#sthash.xW9PHmjB.dpuf Yup. There it is. Or maybe: Family, Friends Shield Cocaine Baron Los Angeles Times, June 22, 1991 MEDELLIN, Colombia -- Friends and family of Pablo Escobar, the Medellin cocaine boss, have formed a private security ring around their jailed chief by following his lead and surrendering under a government leniency program. ... Or the authority known as Google? (I'll give you one guess the Spanish to English translation provided. One hint: it ain't "boss".) translate.google.com/?ie=UTF-8&hl=en&client=tw-ob#es/en/jefe We find the funniest things to quarrell over ...

I was looking for a restaurant review by my fellow islanders and stumbled on a spelling/translation bee, go figure. We must have collective ADD.

Not to belabor this too much, but cassell's Spanish-English English-Spanish defines jefe as chief, head, superior, leader, then on to some military meanings. Chief is defined as jefe, commandante, principal. Boss is not defined as jefe until you get waaay down the list, as a political term, and not as the first def.
As one who taught Spanish at the college level, I find your misspellings and misinterpretations and arguments kind of silly.

Stop in to the restaurant and ask Marteen or Stoney what the translation means. They will tell you. Ask the 4 Columbians that work for me and the other Latinos, the first thing they all say is the boss. But hey what do they know, I think they, as I, would find the KIO grammer police silly. I'm happy you found something to pay the bills after you retired from teaching Spanish. As for the restaurant I liked it.
