Stop in to the restaurant and ask Marteen or Stoney what the translation means. They will tell you. Ask the 4 Columbians that work for me and the other Latinos, the first thing they all say is the boss. But hey what do they know, I think they, as I, would find the KIO grammer police silly. I'm happy you found something to pay the bills after you retired from teaching Spanish. As for the restaurant I liked it.[/quo Do you perhaps mean Martin, which is pronounce marteen, but spelled Martin. I did not start this, dcw, but you are irresistible. And what's the stupid sniping about? The meaning of the word has been pointed out by several readers. If people want to call you boss=jefe, it is not totally wrong (it also is not "grammar), but it is not the number one meaning of the word, as I pointed out. In the meantime, instead of knocking those with an education, why don't you stop being so insecure. This is not a contest. Bye bye.

I was there tonight. I like the bar but the food was cafeteria Mexican at best. I got chicken tinga tacos and it was shredded tasteless chicken on a wet sponge. The nachos were basic and pretty bad too. I hope that they improve.

That's apparently what the area needs...mediocre Mexican. Demand more, you'll get more. Mediocre Italian from their other place too.

Jeffe means boss , the restaurant is called The Boss in Spanish. Jefe refers to the tall guy in this picture.

Hi, I have gone to do not include Sam Adams in happy hour prices. It's usually considered a "premium" beer and most places just have "domestics" discounted - which is a Mexican place will usually mean the normal Lite, Bud, and something like Dos Exis.

Went to El Jefe for the first time last night. Not too impressed.

I have gone there twice. The first time we ordered Nachos, they were ok and took nearly 45 mins to be delivered. I wanted to try the Ceviche so we had it on our second trip, wanted to give them another try. The Ceviche came out in less than 2 mins and was far from fresh. The seafood had a very fishy taste. I was extremely disappointed. I sent it back and they removed it from my bill. We ordered the sampler and that was decent. Mexican food is supposed to be flavorful, to me all was bland. The drinks are good, but the food leaves something to be desired.

I just do not understand why did they change the menu that was working? Along with the name change this seems very odd to me.

Oh no I see a pattern. I guess we need a Chipolte's or a www.elpolloloco.com.. I hate to say this but I tried it two times also, both times service very friendly but the fish quesadilla, very fishy. I got a burrito and it was warn and dry. No taste. This is one of two new restaurants that I would not go back to. The other I don't care to even remember the name.

My wife and I went there last night and I enjoyed it. My wife's order had been over salted and we sent it back. They got her another one very fast. I can see they are working out the kinks and have not had a grand opening yet. As always the wait staff is great. We will be back.

My family was in town this weekend and we decided to stop in and try the place out, seeing that my mother in law likes Mexican food. It is by no means, fine dining, but is exactly what we expected and hoped for. A relaxed atmosphere with good food, great service and friendly people. Can't beat the prices either unless you prefer Taco Bell. The large margarita with the corona in it was great. Nice that they had games to entertain my neice and nephew also. We will be back.

I felt that the "old" menu had lots of interesting things on it, and we thought the quality of the food was better. The "new" menu is fairly standard and the taste of the food is pretty bland also. We thought the service remains good, however. Bring back the chicken mole! :-)

agree with puddintane and his evaluation. Had same experience. Food we ordered was bland. Old menu had some great dishes with nice spices. Staff and service is good, no issue there. Owners need to get some more fresh to table items. dry chicken on a fajita just doesn't make it. I hope they tweak their menu and bring back some old favorites.

Off subject but I had a quesadea at WaWa the other night. Yes I was hungry and getting gas. Anyway for three dollars it was the best one I have had. White Chicken Queseda. The restaurants are KI are really living off past repritations. We need good everyday places that have healthy food at a good price.

Was thinking about going there tonight. Took a look at the online menu, and not impressed. What the heck did they do!? Taco Bell has a more extensive menu! LOL!

(Also a horrible web design. The menu is pretty hard to read online.)

You can tell it is the lunch menus because it says "LUNCH" If $7.49 for lunch is too steep, you might want to consider brown bagging it.

You can tell it is the lunch menus because it says "LUNCH" If $7.49 for lunch is too steep, you might want to consider brown bagging it. I generally order soup as an appetizer not as the complete meal, but for $7.49 that's all I can get.
Steep, reasonable, worth it, who knows? Opinions will vary. Judging from the prices on the menu it looks like most lunches will run about $20 with drink, tax, and tip.UPDATE: Apparently, there are two menus on the web page. If you click on the word MENU there will be another link that takes you to a menu with several items, most of which are priced $9.99 or higher. However, if you hover over the word MENU and click on LUNCH then you will get to a lunch menu marked $7.49, Drinks sold separately. There is a link for a carryout menu but that doesn't take you to a menu. The web page could use some help. I haven't stopped there yet and never made it to Sombrero (big mistake). I look forward to trying it soon.

The higher priced menu that Falger speaks of was the one I was looking at. If you click on MENU you get the dinner menu.

Stopped in yesterday to give it a try... Wasn't impressed :-( Food was ok... Wasn't bad but wasn't super. Prices have increased and they charged us for a 2nd basket of chips! There were 5 of us... Our server was great though! So there's that. But we probably won't be back. For the prices and the quality of the food, it just isn't worth it.

We've been there several times and haven't been charged for extra chips. That would annoy me too.

They told me there would be a charge for extra chips too. Not sure why, chips are dirt cheap. I was afraid to ask for a refill on my Diet Coke!

Weren't they doing a big halloween party with super low prices on things Saturday? Maybe the were just charging for chips because everything else was at lower than normal prices. Kind of like when Shell Yes had $5 burger night...they'd charge you for lettuce, tomato etc so your burger ended up being $11
