FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE :
Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Cleared Of All Charges
Centreville, Maryland – July 25, 2014
The members of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge [HASH]108 would like to update our friends and supporters regarding one of our members who was recently the subject of an unfortunate circumstance made public.
In January 2014, Dfc. Michael Jordan of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was criminally charged by Office of the Sheriff for Queen Anne’s County, for alleged misuse of leave. As a result, the case was assigned to a Special Prosecutor.
This is to make public, that as of May 15, 2014, all charges against Dfc. Michael Jordan were dismissed by the Special Prosecutor, with prejudice.
Dfc. Jordan was a respected member of the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and we are pleased to announce that the Sheriff’s Office saw fit to turn ownership of his K-9 partner, Zora, to him. Unfortunately, Dfc. Jordan has elected to resign from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office. We regret to inform you of his departure and can only comment that the Sheriff’s Office has lost two valuable members of the department.
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge [HASH]108, and members, wish only the best of future endeavors to Dfc. Jordan and his K-9 partner Zora, as they both continue their law enforcement careers.
We would also like to extend a special thanks to his Attorney, Joel L. Katz, for his representation of Dfc. Jordan, and obtaining a favorable outcome in his case.
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 108 is comprised of active and retired law enforcement officers from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, Centreville Police Department, Maryland State Police and Department of Natural Resources. FOP Lodge 108 will continue to support its members, to ensure all are treated equally and fairly during any criminal or administrative matters.
