I just want to warn anyone who is interested or knows someone who is interested in building/buying a home from Davidson Development. Check references and ask residents if they've had issues parking two cars in a two car front entrance garage. I would hate to see someone else go through what we have dealt with. Buying a home should be exciting, not a headache.

What's sad is that we had to pay to move a support pole so both cars could fit, even after we were told the pole was placed incorrectly and it was the builders mistake. And when we asked Jim Davidson himself why he would sell a home claiming to have a 2-car garage knowing two cars can't fit, he said it, "wasn't his problem" the cars don't fit and that we "should have measured". My husband drives a small, compact car and it wouldn't fit. I have the pictures to prove it. It's just shameful that we would be treated this way. He actually laughed at us and didn't take any of our concerns seriously. It was incredibly insulting. I just want other people to know to be very careful when dealing with Jim Davidson. I would NEVER do business with him or his son again.

You were asked where this is. Where is it?

What is the dimension of the garage? Most garages are 19'x19' now which is pretty small, but will still fit two cars.

Most two-car garages are pretty tiny. Most one-car garages can't even get a non-compact car in them these days. Most people on the island use their garages for storage or as man caves/bars.

My one car garage also houses the heat pump circulator, hot water heater, laundry tub, and washer/dryer. I ended up building a wall with a door separating the garage in half because all the car crap infringed on my wifes laundry crap! No car for my garage!

That would be fine if there weren't a support column in the middle of the right side bay. My son bought one of these homes and I mentioned it right away. the sad part is he's still building them this way. It's really a piss poor setup. and lets not even talk about the elevation.......

Agreed, bchevy. When he said it's not his problem people can't park in their "2-car garages" I just about lost my mind. In my opinion, that's just shady business. I'm not sure of the dimensions exactly, but my husband drives a small, compact car and the trunk stuck out the garage door. And excuse me Alleycat, didn't mean to upset you by not letting you know where this occurred. What does it matter where it occurred? Davidson builds all over, and it seems that he's continuing his standard of practice wherever he goes.

Not everyone knows who Davidson might be.

Out of curiosity, I went online and did a MD case search on Davidson Development to see if anything came up. In my opinion, I strongly advise anyone using DD, or anyone who is considering using DD, to look through the multiple cases posted there. It's public record; I just wish I had the insight before working with DD to have looked this information up.
