A friend from a neighboring county commented to me the other day that our county has a lot of "speed traps." He cited one spot near the circle close to the McDonald's (the first McDonald's location). To be sure, we've got a lot of police presence along Route 50, but I never really thought this county was bad when it came to "speed traps" (except most of the downtown area of Centreville, particularly near the Hardee's, which is totally a speed trap). So, what do you think?

Don’t speed (not saying that you do), then it’s not a trap.

I only see them on 50 between Wye Mills and Easton.

I only see them on 50 between Wye Mills and Easton. That Skipton Landing area and the cemetery seem to be popular spots to catch speeders. If I recall, though, the speed limit is pretty consistent there.

I know they've been busy this week on 50, on KI, went to the narrows last night, 3 of them between route 8 and getting there, 20 minutes later, 2 of them with different cars pulled over.
not exactly a speed "trap" when the speed limit doesn't change in any of those areas.

Speed Trap = a police officer sitting a short distance away from a speed limit sign that lowers the limit and citing people for not slowing down fast enough.

Try Waldo, FL that drive from JAX to Gainesville can get pretty costly. I just don't see any "real" traps where I drive. RT 18 is 40 all the way from Marshy Creek to Dominion RD then it goes to 30 to RT 8. 50 is 55 from the bridge to Easton but the average speed is 70. Speed Trap = a police officer sitting a short distance away from a speed limit sign that lowers the limit and citing people for not slowing down fast enough.
