I have this thread posted in the KI forum as well. Figured I would post this in the Centreville forum too. Please, in the name of all that is Holy, let a farmer take a break from working (especially the one that owns the property with all the yellow Posted signs along 301 near the 213 overpass) and read this!! lol
Hello all,
I'm searching for trees/limbs I can cut up for firewood. My wife and I recently bought a house in Centreville (her grandfather who lives in Annapolis said we've just become "chicken neckers", not sure what that means) and want to heat primarily with wood. I'm originally from Hawaii but have been living in MD since 2007 but had to rely on oil so I'm totally new to wood burning. I had no idea it would be so hard to find downed trees/limbs to cut up! Figure people would love to have someone cut it up for free but I've had no luck so far. Anyone of ideas/suggestions? I'm experienced with chainsaws, just not burning wood as a primary heating source. Stupid Reid, bought a fireplace insert without fully researching how he will consistently acquire enough wood to recoup initial purchase price.
Appreciate any help you all can give. So far I'm extremely happy about moving to the eastern shore. Lived in Edgewater for a year before buying the house, way too much traffic over there.

I've had limited success so far. Starting to freak out about finding firewood in time to properly season for next year.
