Anyone else come across this yet?
The county's website shows none of this...it still shows 1 and 3 year licensing including the applications
Effective Jan 1 2015 it now costs a $50 lifetime registration fee per dog...an extra $20 if your dog isn't microchipped. You also have to bring your dogs in with you to get the tags.
You can no longer mail order them. You can no longer pay the 1 years or 3 year registration which was essentially $5 a year.
So if you are moving or possibly have an older dog whose registration ran out you are paying $50-$70
I was told that County Adminstrator Gregg Todd was solely responsible for it.

WOW, I am betting more people will just not register them.

Not giving the county money to register my dog. I'm a responsible pet owner and my dog is chipped and has ID tags. I don't think there is a need to register my vicious and deadly rat terrier.

That's what I'm thinking.
