There are a few 'necks with loud pick ups, but whoever has the black full size in Bay City is a complete jerkoff. Why aren't the police ticketing a-holes like that? Harleys are bad enough, but the idiots who modify pick ups with crazy loud exhaust need to be removed from the gene pool. There's even a moron driving a truck with a train horn who blasts it regularly. Inconsiderate mouth breather jack wagons. One just blasted past my house. /Rant over.

The a-hole with the train horn lives around the corner from me, or otherwise visits rather often, proudly tooting his horn.

You could copy the license plate number down and notify the sheriffs office?

Guys who fix up pickups tend to be a bit "special". Don't go beating them up, just report them to the Sheriff's Office. I'll join you because those to guys drive us crazy too.

Anybody else see the irony in the fact the rant comes from a member named 'loudness'?

I just think of the 80's Japanese band. Hey it worked!

Many years ago I was in an altercation after a guy grabbed my then girlfriend at a bar. I had him by the neck and made him repeat many times "loud and clear" when I explained why he should go forcefully fornicate with himself due to his improper actions. My friends started calling me "Larry Loudness" after that and it stuck. Nothing to do with bands or noise.
I did report the jerk in the white pickup to the Sheriff's office last week and they said they have has a few other complaints about that and will be "looking into it". I hope so or I will.
I haven't seen the black pickup lately. Maybe he bought a muffler.

Maybe he already got picked up on a citation, last year my daughter's boyfriend got pulled over due to his extremely loud exhaust and was given 10 days to make it "legal" or they would suspend his registration. At least he was decent about it and took care of the matter. So maybe give this guy benefit of the doubt if he hasn't been spotted lately. And if he did get pulled over and ticketed but continues he WILL get a suspended registration.

There is NO test, or standard on the Maryland State inspection for vehicles. NONE. The check for leaks, mufflers/converters in place, and tailpipes properly exiting the body. If you are given an inspection ticket, it's 30 days IIRC to get it fixed and signed off. I've never seen or heard of a 10 day fix it ticket Cops can't suspend your registration. There ARE local jurisdictions with sound laws, and some of the police there have meters, Ocean City is one. You can have extremely loud exhaust, in most areas or Md., as long as you have a complete/sealed system Been there, done that, fought that, won that, not there now!

I don't believe loco said the person was cited for an inspection violation. It could have been a "disturbing the peace" kind of thing. I don't know, of course, I'm just sayin'...
They are annoying, but at least the vehicles drive away. I have called the police about neighbors setting off fireworks for HOURS at a time, and not on any particular holiday, either. I'm not a party-pooper, I don't mind New Year's or Fourth of July or whatever, but this idiot just sets them off because he likes to hear the bang. Some people have to get up and go to work in the morning. But I was told by the police that they only have two or three available officers, and they're on the other end of the county, and by the time they get there the person has stopped, and if they don't catch them doing it literally with the firecrackers in their hands then there's nothing the police can do. I find this hard to believe, but that's what I was told.

A repair order gives the person 10 days to get any repairs made and 30 days to have it sent back to MSP who oversees the program. If the repair order is not completed the MVA will be notified and they will flag your registration and it will not be renewed until you comply.
