Ordered $96.00 worth of food from Luke's Grille but was told that I could not use the $5 off coupon because it was for "dine in" only. I support the K.I. Football team and purchased the hard coupons they were selling. Luke's had one so I thought we would give it a try. Decided to cancel the whole order because they would not honor the coupon unless you eat in. I asked for the manager and asked if they were willing to lose a customer for $5. They said yes. I cancelled and ordered carry out from Annie's. Rant over.

Plenty of places have dine-in only specials and coupons. Mountain out of a molehill IMO.
I'd probably be a little annoyed too if I didn't realize that it was dine-in only until I was ready to pick up the food, but I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.

I bought the same card from the football team, I had to go back to look for the dine-in line.
It's really bad business to lose that sale over $5. not even 10% Obviously a rookie move on that manager's part.

Why do you feel you are entitled to something that doesn't apply?? If it's not for take-out, it's not for take-out. Now, if the coupon did not state "For Dine In Only", then I can understand your frustration.

I think it was bad form for the manager to deny the $5. It sounds like the fine print was overlooked up until pickup time. If is was a $20 order I could see the managers reluctance but for $100 it was pretty bone-headed.

If Luke's food is as good as it was the last time I was there, you made the right decision to leave it there.

It doesn't state for dine-in only. I've never felt entitled to anything. I work hard. Just trying to save a few bucks if I could.

If it doesn't say "dine-in only" on the coupon then yea, bad move by Luke's. OP has a right to be pissed.

I would be unhappy with Luke's too. Dumb move.
I had a similar experience with Carini's. A coupon with no expiration date on it and the owner wouldn't accept it. He said it was from a long time ago. He was right, but still no expiration date. I quit the place for a year or so, but eventually started going back.
