A brewery and taproom is coming to Kent Island - At the old Acme location. Kent Island Online spoke with one of the owners of Glass Valve Brewing, LLC who told us that they are looking at having it open by next summer. Their website is still not finished, but will be soon. cultclassicbrewing.com/

Watching the video on their website, it looks like they have a substantial investment in this. Hope it works out for all. Does anyone know if it will be just a brewery? a restaurant and brewery? They mention the plentiful parking in the write up. Just wondering what to expect.

They say they will put a taproom in. No food plans as of yet. But they would invite food trucks to be there on special days.

Interesting. I could be wrong, but if they put a taproom in, I believe they must serve food, too. Pretty sure it's a requisite of the liquor license.

Like this Island really needs another drinking establishment. WTH..... Yes I agree. It should just be left as a run down vacant building which is beneficial to everyone

Hopefully they grow it into something like EVO has in Salisbury. That setup is great for hanging out.

Anyone know the progress of this? Doesn't look like a lot has changed.

They have a lot going on inside there. I spoke with a contractor last week who is working in there and he said that it's well on it's way. The question is, are there enough people to support another bar (especially one this big) here? My guess is that it will put a big dent into Rams Head and could hurt some others too.

Well seeing how god awful Rams Head service is I don’t see that as a bad thing at all I’m sure it’s going to do great if the product is good

Blackwater Distilling has applied for a liquor license for tavern at 405 Cleat Street, Stevensville, MD. Appears to be one of the stores you can see from Rt 50 off of Duke Street

How about some clarity on the Rams Head remark. I have really never had bad service at Rams Head. Slow service at times, but never bad service. Anyone else? My understanding is they got a new chef a few months ago. We've been several times since and the food has been great.

The BOE Marine building is still the BOE Marine building. Our new neighbors in the green building will be Blackwater Distilling. They have some very exciting plans!

Yes at times it is slow service, but food is good and server kept me informed it would be a bit. I need to go more often.
