Big News! Stevensville's Blackwater Distilling is expanding our distilling operation and opening a tavern from our current location to a new spot right on route 50 in Stevensville. More news soon but here's more about us:
We have an Indiegogo campaign. We're offering exciting perks with discounts on our products, and more. Here's how you can help, along with more information about us and the new tavern:
Our Current Distillery Has Tours and Tastings! See firsthand the science and art of fermentation, distillation, proofing, barrel aging, and bottling, and taste our award-winning products. Tours are $5 and include a Blackwater Distilling shot glass to use for your tasting and to take home with you! There is no need to book a tour. Simply come to the distillery during our open hours of 12-5 p.m. for one of our tours kicking off on each hour through 4 p.m. Tours and tastings last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. All of our spirits are available for purchase, as well as distillery merchandise and a variety of mixers.

More About Blackwater Distilling: Did you know that Maryland's most awarded distillery is right here on Kent Island? Blackwater Distilling (www.blackwaterdistilling.com) was also the first distillery to open in MD since the closure of the last rye whiskey distillery in the early 1970s. We were formed by the Maryland raised Cook brothers, Chris and Jon (a graduate of Washington College), in 2005 but did not begin production until 2011. Being the first distillery in MD in over 30 years did not make this an easy business to start (are any of them easy?) and the economic downturn certainly didn’t help, either. We had to bootstrap every step of the way; building this company has been an effort of love (and stubbornness). Since opening on April 1, 2011, we have released ten regular spirits and several other limited run specialty spirits.
