Ok, this is going to be hard trying to give the exact recipe...So bare with me.....
Meat:
4 or 5 frozen chicken thighs
2 lbs of Ham (pre-cooked is fine, in fact I just used left over ham that I had frozen from Christmas it was about 2 lbs)
1 package of smoked sausage (sliced) ( I used cheddarwurst)
Throw the ham, sausage and chicken into a crock-pot
Then shake really hard a bottle of soy sauce..about 20 times, add 1 green pepper chopped and 1 medium red onion chopped.
throw in a can of cream of mushroom soup....(small can) over the top...(Don't fold it in)
Add about 1/2 cup of water and and 1/2 cup or so of Regular Coke (off to the side so as to not bother the soup)
Cover and cook for about 6 hours. You can stir the mixture maybe once or twice..after 2.5 hours.... but really no need to....
At the 6th hour or so, cook a box of Zatarans Jumbalaya Rice....follow directions on the box.
Meanwhile, debone the chicken thighs, (meat should slide right off the bone) and throw the meat back in the pot and stir....
Then add the rice to the crock pot and mix really well.
Then take a packet of gravy mix (I used Knox's Jaegershnitzel mix) and sprinkle the dry gravy over the mixture and then stir really well.
Then fry up a mess of fried okra, and fix a platter of cornbread
and your tummy will be saying yummy!! yummy!!!
Now if you want to fogo the box of zatarans and do the rice your self, use brown rice, (minute rice is good)..... make two cups of rice, and before you add it to your meat mixture, add about 5 shakes (about 2 or 3 tsps) of Creaole seasoning mix and a can of Ro-tel tomotoes with the mild chiles unless you like hot.....
yummy yummy!!
Other variations would be to throw some shrimp or crawdads in there........I am not sure about Crab, but I guess you use Old bay Seasoning instead of Creaole and have a really interesting Dish!!! Hmmmmmmm.....might have to try it my self!
