That's great that it's a good place. Is the pizza NY, Chicago, or some other style? I was thinking that it was going to be similar to Bertucci's (chain with one in Annapolis by Home Depot / Outback Steakhouse)? What do they have on the menu aside from pizza? I'm going to try it this weekend.

I also went there last night for dinner. As you would expect at any restaurants first day in operation, they have some things to work out. The staff at times seemed to be bumping into each other and as ALANR stated there seemed to be some confusion. When we entered the restaurant, we had to ask at the carryout counter whether we seat ourselves - the girl said to stand at the door to the dining area and someone would seat us - employees kept walking past and it took a while for someone to finally ask if we needed a seat. Our waitress was pleasant and did a good job. No ALCOHOL license yet! You can go to the liquor store next door and bring it in with you. We ordered a large Sicilian crust pizza with meatballs - it was very good. The pizza was 16 inches and thick - I'm a big eater and we took half of it home. Next time I'm goin' with thin crust against my wife's wishes. Don't necessarily agree with ALANR as to whether it beats all Island and Annapolis Italian restaurants, but it has the potential to be very good.

We actually got two house salads, two ice teas, and a large (16") Sicilian crust pizza with two toppings (meatball and onion) for $25 and some change.
Some of the entries run $12-15 but most items seem reasonable for what you get.

I'm looking forward to giving them a try too. I understand about getting good help too. The employee pool on the Shore is in short supply unfortunately. We've been having a real problem getting a sales person, even at 50% commission, that doesn't just flake out on us and dissappear. I have friends that own other businesses and they have had similar problems with 'flaking'. Work ethics seem to be slipping... Anyway, kudos to the new pizza joint for a nice addition to the area.

Try the Chicken Parmigiana @ $13.95 with a salad and bread ( should be hot) it will be dinner for two nights. Excellent. This is a very nice addition to the shore. Now with the Ram Head and Cracker Barrel we have it all.OPPS did I say Cracker Barrell. Sorry that was killed.

I tried going there tonight but the line was HUGE! I ended up going to Lisa's instead. La Fontana is definately doing well. Nice to see.

I went there last night. It was not bad. The Italian owner is the previous owner of Carini's, and a lot of the items looked strangely familiar. The food was good, not great, and the atmosphere was quite nice. Prices were comfortable. It is a nice change for the island and I will definently be going back! It fills a void on the island, unlike Lukes, which is too much like Big Bats without the baseball.

What void? They're just like Squisito but with a Brick Oven. For my money, Squisito's pasta al forno is still the best dish around.

I like the food at Squisitos also, but I've been to La Fontaine twice already and they will definitely give them a run. I had the sausage sub and the wife had a chef salad the other day. The sub was one of the best I've had, and I've eaten alot of sausage subs. They use sausage that actually has Italian spices in it. The salad was loaded with coldcut meat, not just slices of meat but several rolls of meat.

Okay UPDATE REVIEW. Though you can see from my first post I really liked this place, but now after the third time there all I will say it will be my last. Back to the old place across the street. First night pizza was very good, second night pizza was fair but there overcharged me by $2.00 dollars. Third time pizza was good but to charge extra for basil on a pizza? well that's it.. Then the second time I had chicken parm it was cold. Service continues to be a little slow also. So will I give them another shot.NO Sorry but you need to service your customers with a smile. This is something the owner has not. Plus I heard how he speaks to his help, I would NEVER talk down to help. Just my honest RE-REVIEW. Take it for what it is worth.

I usualy give new places 2 months to get going. At first every new place blows. Take Quiznos for example. it took them 2 months to make a sub in under 15 minutes

I have had two good experiences at LaFontane. Not great food, but good food. The last couple times at "El Squisito", I have had problems. The english barrier is obvious if you special order anything. Also the salsa music feels more like being in Chi-Chi's, rather than an Italian restaraunt. If I am in the mood for mexican, I'll go to Chevys.
