I'll never understand people that say that they like the winter... At least we're not in Minnesota or someplace like that

Baltimore Sun says a high of 20 and low of 4 around Tuesday! Now, if we only had about 20" of snow to go with that, it would begin to look a lot like winter.

I'm beginning to think there is some truth when people say that we need a good cold spell to get rid of some these darn flu germs!

I'll never understand people that say that they like the winter... At least we're not in Minnesota or someplace like that Have you ever been in an area where winter settles in for a while? Not like here where it comes, everyone gets excited (and stupid), and then it melts. Someplace where it snows for a few days straight and stays cold enough that the snow hangs around for a while. You start to get used to it and begin appreciating how nice and clean things look.

Got stuck in the Berkshire Mountains, Great Barrington, MA, once for about 3 weeks because of a blizzard in the early 70s. No thanks. Those guys cross country ski when we bike-ride or jog.
Now in the summer, can't beat the fresh-water fishin'. They keep it a secret.

Geez, I replaces the weather graphic on the bottom of the main page with one that gives the temp and current wind direction & speed and looking at it - OUCH! 16 degrees with 12 MPH winds out of the n-nw at 1:55PM. That's just wrong.
I replaced the old weather graphic because it seemed to say "Advisory" all of the time for no real reason. This one I got from our friends at WNAV and gives the temp and wind real time from Matapeake Elementary School in Stevensville. Pretty cool. I added a larger version in the "Weather" page as well.
It takes a few seconds to load.
