Happy Hour food is decent and free. Happy Hour beer is inexpensive.
Haven't had much off the menu, but what we did have was OK. Good enough to bring me back, not good enough to become my favorite. Would definitely recommend trying it once. Check out their web page for the menu and prices, some prices are pretty steep.
Non-Happy Hour beer prices are very competitive if you stick to the RH beers. Haven't tried the non-RH so don't know the prices on those.[/quote]
Thanks for the info

We went Sunday for the first time. 1) it was a NASCAR thing, and we sat on the bar side (mistake). 2) the food was OK. As above - not enogh to be a favorite, and barely enough to qualify for return visits. 3) I was sick Sunday evening. I attribute this to Sunday afternoon's late lunch. Unlike Sheridan's or Big Bat's I'll go back, though (Sheridan's and Big Bat's were both severe cases of disgust at the restaurant and then sick later so...). 4) I'm a beer nut. I love my beer. I plan to do the beers of the world thing, and that might be the reason to go back. Trying 100 different beers is to me what slop is to a pig. I was giddy as I read that "100 beer" thing... 5) the crowd was a wierd mix of old gun and knife club members and... well, people who didn't belong in a bar watching NASCAR (myself included perhaps). This was likely due to NASCAR so who knows. 6) service was pleasant and reasonably efficient. 7) every list must have a number 7 8) do nascar fans watch the Daytona fanfare with as much disgust as the Not-so-Superbowl fanfare? 9) it's a physically nicer place than the old Island Inn, and that matters, too. enough? OK, OK, easy, i was done anyway.

No comparison between NASCAR and NFL. NASCAR = cavemen driving lame Mon 'n Dad cars in a circle. NFL = an actual sport. NASCAR: I'm surprised that the Ram's Head would show redneck circle drivers in there at all. That's for canned beer No Place losers.

No fan of Go-Straight-Turn-Left myself but, Eric, tell us how you really feel. LOL
OTOH, the superbowl pretty much ruined NFL for me this year. What a joke. More about the show than the sport. I'm going to start following college lacrosse, football, and basketball, and european footbal (AKA soccer)... at least the euros hold sport skills above the showy crap we've started to accept.

Dood... that's not OCD, that's IBS! j/k I've a cast iron stomach. BUT, when there's a hair in my food for the SECOND time... that's a problem. That was Big Bat's. Just about done the salad, and felt something in my mouth that didn't belong... it was hair. Turns out, I had to pull over 12" of hair back out of my mouth - actually ticked my throat on the way out. Any cast iron stomach attached to a brain would be nauseated by that. Similar at Sheridan's: twice in a row there was hair in the food... Sorry, but that's just nasty. Ram's Head wasn't bad food - but something didn't agree with me. As I said, I'll got back, so I don't think they're in any way systematically or methodically contaminating food. And maybe it was something else altogether. No OCD here... just two bad local restaurants we no longer patronize.

Thank you all for the support. We did accept the gift certificates for the entire month of February. We got quite a few redeemed for 100% of the value of the gift certificates.
As for the loan, we did receive a small loan from QA County (who has been WONDERFUL by the way!). For anyone who has been in the new Rams Head Shore House would surely recognize that the loan went directly to the upgrades and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the facility. I think that loan money was gone the 1st week; seriously.
Look forward to seeing all of you soon- we are getting ready to do some more remodeling in the dining room in the next few weeks. Hope you come by and check it out!

I have to tell you, there has been a lot of conversation on this board about chain restaurants and the like coming over here and it has not been well received, after all we are all entitled to our own opinions! Because of that however, I was wondering how Ramshead would be received even though technically they are a local company. While they will not be advertising with us the experience I had professionally dealing with the reps from Ramshead (Erin) was wonderful. She was very professional even though she was telling me no, while sometimes that is unpleasant, I didn't so much mind it! I would much rather a representative be professional with me instead of making it seem like I am shoving a business opportunity down their throat and then avoiding me! If my experiences are a reflection of what I would expect from the restaurant, then this alone will cause me to patron their business. Thanks Erin for posting with us, if there is anything we can do for you in the future, please let me know!
