Queenstown Moose Burglarized Incident Type: BURGLARY Date / Time: 02/02/2009 Location: 6154 Main Street, Queenstown, Maryland Victim: Moose Lodge #831 Suspect:
Narrative:
As employees arrived at the Moose Club on Tuesday morning at about 0730 Hours, they noticed that a rear door was ajar and notified the Sheriff's Office.
Further inspection of the building revealed that an interior kitchen door had been pried open and an internet jukebox had been forced open and the cash removed.
The bartender and two other subjects locked up and left the club at about 2342 Hours on the previous evening. Surveillance footage shows an individual in dark clothing in the building at 0013 Hours.
Damage and loss is estimated at over $500.

Narrative: On December 16, 2008 the Queen Anne%u219s County Office of the Sheriff and the Queen Anne%u219s County Department of Social Services conducted a joint investigation of alleged sexual child abuse based on information developed during an investigation by the Homeland Security Customs Division. During the course of this joint investigation it was determined that the suspect had had inappropriate physical contact with a minor female on two separate occasions. In 2003 the suspect had sexual contact with the victim, who was two years old at the time, at the home of the victim%u219s grandparent%u219s on Kent Island, MD. In 2005 the suspect had sexual contact with the victim again, who was three years old at the time, in the victim%u219s residence also on Kent Island. An arrest warrant was issued on January 23, 2009 based on an application for criminal charges submitted by the Queen Anne%u219s County Office of the Sheriff Criminal Investigations Division. On February 2, 2009 at 1018hrs the suspect was served with the arrest warrant issued in reference to this investigation. The suspect was subsequently released by the District Court Commissioner on his personal recognizance.

Medical Examiner rules on Garcia Death

Narrative:
The death of an 18 month old Sudlersville child in December has been ruled by the Medical Examiner's Office as a Natural Death.
The detective in the case, Kristy Murphy of the QA Sheriff's Office was contacted today and advised that the cause of death was due to Viral Meningoencephalitis.
Ole Garcia 18 months old was in the care of a babysitter when found unresponsive after being left on a sofa for a nap with another child. The child when found was transported to the Chester River Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The body of the child has remained here in the United States pending the outcome of the autopsy. The Guatemala Embassy had refused to allow the child's body to be returned while the death was under investigation. The parents of the child returned to Guatemala shortly after the child's death.

Theft @ K-Mart Suspect Caught by Deputy
Theft over $500 02/12/2009 @ 1945 hours 200 Kent Landing, Stevensville, MD K-Mart White Male, 29 YOA, Stevensville, MD
Narrative: On 02/12/2009 at 1945 hours Deputy J. Phan of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office arrived at K-Mart in Stevensville, MD for a Theft in progress called in by security. On arrival Deputy Phan observed a white male, 29 Years of age pushing a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise. Deputy Phan approached the male who attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended after a brief struggle. The suspect was taken into custody on theft charges for taking over $600 of merchandise to include: Fusion Razors crest white strips and bottles of Oil of Olay products. The suspect made statements that he would harm himself and he was taken to Easton Memorial Hospital for an evaluation and will be charged at a later date with Theft over $500 / Theft under $500 / Disorderly Conduct / Failure to Obey a Lawful Order / Resisting Arrest and Disturbing the peace.

Narrative: On 02/12/2009 at 0059 hours Deputy J. Phan of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office observed a 2001 Lexus traveling on RT 50 at the Kent Narrows without the headlights on while operating on the highway. Dep. Phan stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver who was identified as Ms. Brewer of Dover, Delaware. A Motor Vehicle Check revealed that Ms. Brewer's drivers license was suspended through Delaware. Ms. Brewer was placed under arrest and charged with driving on a suspended license and released on her signature pending a court date.

Vehicle Damaged at QACO High School

Narrative: On 02/10/2009 at 2115 hours Deputy M. Martin of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was notified by Erica Tomlinson of damage to her vehicle that she located when she left a sporting event at the High School. Tomlinson stated that she arrived at 1900 hours to attend the sporting event and when she left at 2110 hours she observed that her tire was flat and that there were fresh scratch marks in the paint of her 2001 Ford Mustang. The tire appeared to be punctured by a sharp object.
The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1500 dollars.

The two students were arguing and they began to have a physical altercation.
Both students were charged with assaulting each other and were referred to Juvenile Justice and were suspended from school for a week.

Ms. Walkers bank contacted her on February 1st, 2009 and they could not locate the vehicle for pick-up.

Vehicle Accident on Rt 309
Incident Type: Motor Vehicle Accident Date / Time: 02/15/2009 @ 1833 hours Location: RT 309 and Poplar School Road
Narrative:
On 02/15/2009 at 1833 hours Deputy Foster of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was traveling westbound on RT 309 west of Poplar School Road. Deputy Foster received a call for service on Fox Meadow Road and made a U-Turn on RT 309 and was struck by a 2008 Lexus ES 350 driven by Kenneth L. Strauss of Selbyville, Delaware.
Kenneth L. Strauss and Deputy Foster were not injured in the accident.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The accident investigation is still under review.

Motor Vehicle Accident on Rt 213
Incident Type: Motor Vehicle Accident Date / Time: 02/15/2009 @ 0201 hours Location: RT 213 and South East Creek Road
Narrative:
On 02/15/2009 at 0201 hours Deputy Becker of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was traveling northbound on RT 213 in the area of South East Creek Road. Deputy Becker struck a deer that ran out in front of his patrol vehicle causing damage to the front of the vehicle. Deputy Becker was not injured in the accident.
The vehicle was driven from the scene.
The accident investigation is still under review.

Theft of Dresses at the Outlets
Incident Type: Theft over $500 Date / Time: 02/10/2009 Location: 203 Outlet Center Dr, Queenstown, MD Victim: Polo Ralph Lauren Store Suspect: AA / Male
Narrative: On 02/13/2009 Deputy Foster of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office responded to the Polo Ralph Lauren Store located at the Queenstown Outlets for a theft of eight dresses that occurred on 02/10/2009. The theft was discovered by store employees and the video surveillance of the dress rack shows a AA Male taking the dresses off the rack and placing them in his bag and left the store without paying for the dresses that had a value of $1040.00
On 02/13/2009 the suspect came back to the store and attempted to return the dresses for money but was refused by the cashier. The suspect left the store with the dresses. The suspect got into a silver colored passenger car and left the area.

Juveniles Cited for Alcohol Possession in Queenstown
Incident Type: Under Age Possession of Alcohol Date / Time: 02/13/2009 Location: RT 18 & Cherry Lane Queenstown, MD Victim: State Of Maryland Suspect: Juvenile Male, 17 YOA, Centreville, MD Juvenile Male, 17 YOA, Grasonville, MD
Narrative: On 02/13/2009 @ 2330 Hours Deputy Jones of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle for traveling 75 mph in a posted 40 mph zone on RT 18 @ Cherry Lane in Queenstown, Maryland.
Sgt Jones smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver of the vehicle who is a juvenile male 17 years of age of Grasonville, Maryland.
The other juvenile male 17 years of age of Centreville, Maryland also had an odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Alcoholic beverages were located in the vehicle.
Both juveniles were cited on a Juvenile citation and released to a parent pending a juvenile hearing.

Theft of Camera from Howards Bar

Narrative: On 02/14/2009 @ 0146 Hours Cpl. Beatty of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office responded to a theft call at Howards Bar located at 6520 Church Hill Road in Chestertown, Maryland for a theft of a camera from a purse.
The victim Ms Patterson said that she left her purse on top of the bar and her Kodak Easy Share Camera valued at $500 was in her purse. Patterson went to get her purse and realized that the camera was missing.

Theft from Vehicle @ Xtra Mart

Narrative: On 02/16/2009 @ 0900 Hours Dep. Gore of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office responded to a theft call in the 100 block of Rutledge Road in Queenstown, Maryland.
The Pivec's reported that on 02/13/2009 that they stopped at the Extra Mart on Piney Creek Road and went inside the business to purchase a drink and when they returned the Apple IPOD valued at $250 was missing. They drove to the park and ride and left the vehicle to be picked up later and when the vehicle was picked up other items were missing that were not noticed on 02/13/2009 when the IPOD was noticed missing.
The other items reported missing are: One Tom Tom GPS Unit, valued at $188 dollars and a Sony PSP Game valued at $250 dollars.

E-Mail Scam Alert
Incident Type: E-Mail Scam Date / Time: 02/13/2009 Location: 1600 Block of Barclay Road, Barclay, MD Victim: Carl A. Tucker Suspect: Unknown
Narrative: On 02/13/2009 Cpl. Lowery of the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office was contacted by Carl A. Tucker who wanted to report an E-Mail Scam Letter that was sent to persons in his address book of his computer. The E-mail stated that he (Tucker) was stranded in the United Kingdom and he was requesting that his friends send him a specific amount of money by a money transfer to an address in the United Kingdom. Tucker sent his friends in his address book a real e-mail alerting them of the scam and that he did not send out the fraudulent e-mail requesting money.
The Office of the Sheriff wants the public to know to never send any money and or personal information to anyone who they don't know the true identity of that individual. Also to monitor your credit report to make sure that you have not been a victim of identity theft.
