The story of life never changes. In the beginning there was Adam & Eve, and Cane & Able. Twenty five % of the population was murdered.....Both sides in Gaza can tell you who the bad guy is. It's the other guy.

So by definition, atheists aren't evil? Or do you define atheism as a religion of non-religion? Oversimplification. Spend some time to look into the issue. Religion is frequently used to rally the masses, but is not always the root cause of the problem. ^ Not trying to be an advocate for aetheism, just against hypocrisy. robmoore: My comment wasn't directed at yours, I agree with yours. My comment was directed at "religion is the root of all evil."

That's really, really uncalled for. There are millions of people living there. So was 9/11 there are millions of people living there TOO. Let's start caring about OUR OWN PEOPLE FIRST. -DG Just who do you suppose is NOT looking out for their own people first. Look closely enough and you might find that this attitude is near the root of the problem. "Our own people" is a very vague term. I don't know you, but I can come up with numerous definitions of "my own people" that do not include you. Others will come up with definitions that do include Israel, Palestine, or both.

I am going to send some positive vibes to your family there...because Lebanon bombed Israel either this morning or last night. I have no idea of what that country was thinking...ugh. Barb PS..Falgars post right above this....Its a really great post...

Thanks, Barb. My family is in northern Lebanon, but Lebanon is a very small country. I hope this Israel/Gaza Strip conflict doesn't escalate into a larger war with other countries. I know Iran has been trying to push other countries into "taking action" against Israel's actions, but it seems like no one's been listening so far.
As for the people in countries like France who think that Israel's actions against Palestine are a good excuse to attack Jews, it's absolutely disgusting.

Why do they use schools and hospitals to wage their war of terror as home base? Cowardice acts is what it is. They taunt their opponents to bomb a schools so that they can hold up dead babies for the CNN to cry over. THATS disgusting. -DG

I have said for years.. there can never be world peace. My evidence is based on the fact that even the basic set of man and woman can not live in harmony forever. A man and woman can be madly in love one day and be ready to kill each other the next, and as history has shown us it happens regularly. Differences in religion, ethnic background, and even favorite football team has created incredible hate and violence between men of different persuasions. Hate and ignorance is a powerful human emotion. One only has to research war atrocities commited by all sides in every conflict to gain insight into how brutal men can be. Consider the Khmer Rouge communists.. feed the innocents live to crocodiles, cut the liver out of your enemy and eat it while he watches to gain his power.. Look at images of of death camps in WWII .. innocent women and children being hung on meat hooks inserted into body cavities while alive.. I suppose since man never learns the lessons of war, and conventional war doctrine through all the ages accepts collateral damage, that the worst is yet to come. I hope not, but I suspect that some day sheer desperation will force the Israelis or one of their neighbors to play the nuclear, chemical, or biological card. Sorry for such a depressing post, but I sometimes think we need to stop looking at the world through rose colored glasses and examine the reality. Best regards, BC

Not depressing at all BC. This is one of many wars that have been going on for over a 1000 years.

I know Iran has been trying to push other countries into "taking action" against Israel's actions, but it seems like no one's been listening so far. I'm not sure I quite understand what your saying. Should the other countries be listening? The fighting will stop some day but it won't be a day that I want to be around for. The problem is with Radical Islamic groups. Israel isn't going to let them keep them down. I admire this small country defending itself especially when they know that many other larger countries could step in against them. Seems kinda like the story of David vs. Goliath.

I wasn't implying that other countries should be listening to Iran. The "so far" was my being concerned that might change if this continues on much longer.

Simple.
24 hours notice to totally evacuate the area, search everyone on the way out,
then either do a door to door search and empty the area of weapons and unfrielndly left behind, or
carpet bomb, level it all and start over.
It's WAR, play to WIN. Exit strategies are for LOSERS.

The masses can be "relocated" with that suggestion Bchev, but their beliefs will still remain intact.
Undoubtedly those beliefs will become even more radical after such an action is taken against them.
A war would most certainly only break out in their next "homeland" don't you think?

I doubt that the "believers" would evacuate, they would perish in the carpet bombing

Funnel,
Yes its sad, but no I am not surprised.
What I am surprised about is the reaction of the media (I guess I shouldn't be by now).
Other than us both being sad to hear of the deaths, I think our views of the reasons why are quite opposing.
I'll just end my post in ageement with you. Yes it is very sad.
