"As a police officer I would love to know what speed when traveling on route 50 should a motorist receive a ticket. Give a number. "
8-10 mph faster than the cop traveling on the same highway without his lights on.

Jake.....The courts determine the number. If the Judge finds you guilty at 10 over the limit, bur not at 9, the Police will write at 10. A good cop wants a conviction in court. I rode motors for seven years in Balto. City, and we wrote at 15 over on the main streets, and 10 over on the side streets. Getting the reckless aggressive speeder should be the goal. Saving lives is the name of the game, not generating revenue.

PETE: The COP decides the number when HE WRITES THE TICKET. Is that SO hard to figure out? Saving lives went out the window YEARS ago, probably with you. It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOW or you would not have speeders, tailgaters, and the other jerks and morons on the road today, MONEY MONEY MONEY Red light Cameras MONEY MONEY MONEY And coming soon to your area- Speeding ticket cameras. MONEY MONEY MONEY All I can say is I have gone through speed traps at 63/64 and never been pulled over- the moron who had passed me a couple miles back like I was sitting still...... he was stopped and getting his paperwork straight when I went by. "same deputy" I got a number in mind, it's ONE, that, or raise the friggin limit and put THE NUMBER on THE SIGN so WE ALL KNOW JUST EXACTLY WHAT THE NUMBER IS AS I FAILED MY MIND READING CLASS.

Shoreman, Actually, I never lose any of my cases. My report writing skills happen to be excellent when it matters. This site is not court nor of any importance to the real world. I win all my cases because I bring good cases to court and know what I'm doing. Clearly there would be no way to prove who I am and I’m certainly not going to give my true identity. Further more, a police report is nothing more than the facts written down to help recall the officers’ memory of the event. I learned this from the police academy that I went through many years ago.

Bchevy is right on one thing. It's all about the money. The reality of the ticket is to generate revenue for the state. It should not be like that and citations should be issued as corrective measures. All about bringing revenue to the state!

Shoreman, Actually, 1. I never lose any of my cases. 2. My report writing skills happen to be excellent when it matters. 3. I win all my cases because I bring good cases to court and know what I'm doing. 4. Clearly there would be no way to prove who I am 5. and I’m certainly not going to give my true identity. 6. Further more, a police report is nothing more than the facts written down to help recall the officers’ memory of the event. 7. I learned this from the police academy that I went through many years ago. 1. WOW 100% conviction record! I'd be impressed if I believed you were a "deputy" 2. No way 3. See #1 & #2 just above 4. Sure there would, even a "deputy" would know how to do that. 5. Because you would certainly be relieved of duty for conduct unbecoming for posting on this board with the comments you've made, and doing it on company time at that. 6. A police report has nothing to do with FACTS. It's what & who the officer believes at the time, whoever tells a better story. 7. I saw the police academy movies too, what's that mean? See my #2 above again

What I'd like to know is this; If the Deputy is a real cop and therefore trained to investigate and to not miss "obvious" details, then why has he not "discovered" there is a reply button at the bottom of a thread with a "spell-check" option to prevent his errors???

He may need to register to get that one? I wouldn't know, I'm registered..... He has a lot of the right words, just in the wrong place, spellcheck might not help him were we're etc
