We just heard that KI may be getting a Cracker Barrel? Does anyone know if this is true? Just curious. It would be great to have a place for breakfast.

They have been trying for a pad next to K-Mart, but I wasn't aware that they got apporoved. For breakfast you can't beat Holly's in Grasonville - why go with a McBreakfast place?

Cracker Barrel wants to move in where the trailer park and pizza place are currently, on Thompson Creek rd behind the Shell. The county commish thinks its a good idea, but they have to fix that intersection with Rt 50 first.
I say ... send it to Queenstown. KI doesnt need 2 acres of asphalt that close to Cox Creek.

Queenstown is "close by" enough for me.
I agree. Cracker Barrel is good eatin'. I'm just not a fan of paving ALL of Kent Island. That property bumps up against the creek.

It's also good shopping. I would definitely go to Queenstown for a Cracker Barrel.

Yeah I agree - Queenstown would be a good location. And if they put it off Rt. 50 - it would still get plenty of beach traffic.

Leave the beach traffic on 50, we don't need to distract them anymore than they already are.

Trailor parks = trashy people. It's nice to say, but everyone knows that it's true. T.P.T. I'd take a (fill in the blank) over a trailor park any day. It would reduce the pit-bull population in half

BCD - I've got a sense of humor and know all the jokes, but not all trailer parks fit the description. H*ll, I've seen many that have a better sign in front of them than Bay City. You're right though, in this case the Cracker Barrel would probably be more appeasing to the eye.

I don't see how a chain restaurant is more pleasing to the eye than families in a community.
I'm saddened by this thread.

I'd just rather the Cracker Barrels stay on the interstates. It gives me something to look forward to when I travel.
Just think of the TRAFFIC a cracker barrel would bring OFF the highway.... No Thanks.
The PC term would now be "affordable housing" and that commodity is seriously lacking.

Red- wasn't meant to say the families should be displaced, just wouldn't hurt to spruce up the area including the car lot with office trailer and small strip center next to the gas station. My inlaws own a double-wide trailer and the park is kept up nice - I have no bias toward people who live in them.

Take away the trailers, they lose their homes, Bias or not.
Don't look

BChevy - last time I checked 50 IS an interstate. Just because we use it daily doesn't not make it an interstate - (is that even gramatically right?? doesn't not??) just my 2 cents! I've said it before and I'll say it again - I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A CRACKER BARREL!! I don't get to take too many road trips due to work, kids, life, etc... therefore if one was close - WOO HOO - one happy shorti here!!! :0 Granted - they should definitely do something w/ that intersection/exit whatever to relieve any unnecessary traffic... I agree w/ that... yes indeedy!!!

You get some change for your 2 cents... Check again. US Route 50 is not an Interstate Hwy although it goes coast to coast, and I-97 IS an interstate hwy and doesn't even cross a state line. go figure. Is has to do with design and limited access....
