I was wondering how many of the KIO regulars enjoy the rural outdoors heritage of the bay and surrounding woodlands? Any hunters or fishermen and women out there? By the way, good advice for all of our local residents.. the whitetail deer rut is on!! It looks like it began in earnest just the last couple days. For the next several weeks the deer are going to be moving a lot. Be a good idea to slow down a little on the back roads and watch along the side of the road for glowing eyes.. the deer have other thing on their minds and just like us pound puppy fellas, ain't got good sense when there's a hot momma in the area.. Best regards, BC

I love to Fish, unfortunately, I just haven't had the time to go since moving here...But I do have my fishing license in the event that the opportunity crosses my path.
I do like camping out...(weather conditions do play into how roughing it will be tho.....)
hunting not so much, I am a terrible shot, when I was a kid my brothers tried to teach me to shoot a shot gun, and although I can load it and shoot it, no guarantee where the shot is going.....this was validated many years later when I was in the Air Force and had to go qualify on the M16, the guy next to me on the firing range got expert cause all my shots went into his target..... LOL!!
At the Turkey Shoot on Saturday, at the Legion there was a buck standing in the field behind the fence watchiing all the action and strutting as af to say...HA HA..you can't shoot me!!!

My wife and I go crabbing at least once a week. We were in the habit of going out on the other boat at least 2 or 3 times a week but since we have been using the canoe to crab haven't had the time to take the big boat as much. We just like the peace and quiet and a few beers early in the morning. Some people are so serious about fishing and crabbing. We see people who are really looking like they are WORKING! What's the old saying I'd rather be fishing. We like goofing around and exploring the island, if we catch anything it's all good, if not ...it's all good .

I love to fish but rarely do. I don't hunt because I don't like to kill animals. Let me make it clear though I will eat them if someone else shoots it....

I love to fish, and it doesn't matter whether its Tuckahoe Creek, the Bay, or the surf in Ocean City. This year vacation time included bass fishing on a Missouri farm pond and grouper fishing on a headboat out to the Gulfstream in SC.
I haven't hunted in years, but still enjoy some venison.

Einebier, I had a similar situation on the firing range a few years ago at Andrews, except I had the target with a lot of holes, thanks to the person next to me. They wouldn't let me claim expert because my target had about 15 or 20 more holes than I had rounds issued.

I love to crab. I like fishing too. Trolling I'm not so good at. I did do some live-lining this year and that was fun. But now I'm sad the weathers getting colder and the crabs are moving out. Its a sad time of year for me.
