One meal, and only open three days, does not make me qualified to write a review, but the first lunch at Rustico's was extremely pleasant.
First the menus: (1) extensive wine list (2) reasonably price lunch menu (3) dinner looked great with lots of options (4) dessert and after dinner drinks and (5) additional bar menu.
Although it was not very crowded, service was great.
Also, the dessert special today was from Peace of Cake - glad to see the new owners working with one of the island's tastiest local businesses.
They also did a nice job with the interior and have much more seating.
Finally, without spoiling my Mondays and Wednesdays and those slow afternoons around 3 pm, wine and happy hour specials are right on target for my pocketbook.

We have it a try last night and it was very good. They have a 4 course meal for $35 thing and we both did that. It includes a house salad, appetizer or soup, main course, and dessert. Salads were salads, and it improved from there. I had the Cream of crab soup and the Mrs. had clams & mussels in garlic butter sauce. Both were excellent. Main course I had fettuccine Alfredo with scallops, shrimp, and crab. Very good. A lot of crab meat in there and not too buttery. The Mrs. had lobster raviolis that were cooked in a rose' cram sauce with crab-meat. That was excellent. For dessert we had chocolate mouse and the "house specialty" which was a vanilla custard over strawberries with Marcella wine cooked in. It was amazing. Desserts are all made in-house except the cheesecakes that come from "peace of cake" across the street, we were told. Definitely worth a try! They have a lot of seafood on the menu that I'm looking forward to trying too.

ya mean moose?--oh--mousse!
anyway, we stopped and got some takeout there tonight--just a greek salad and a fisherman's stew (this is appetizer size). hubby said the salad was fine. the zuppa de pesci was VERY nice--wonderful broth, tomatoey with a hint of the sea. couple of clams, mussels, scallops, biggish shrimp. will be going back when we have time for a sit down.

went there for dinner tonight (friday). VERY crowded. even with reservations had to wait more than 15. the food was excellent--no complaints there. service was soso. took forever. never got a second glass of water until someone came around just as we were leaving (this, after 3 hours). could not get our payment picked up, so finally had to go to the front and look for someone. by then, the restaurant was no longer crowded, so there was no excuse. i think they were somewhat overwhelmed by the number of customers, but water should have been brought, check should have been handled expeditiously. but the food was GREAT! ;D

We were there last night (Friday) also. We got there alittle after 6. No wait, and had good service all around.
Food was excellent. I got the 4-course special for $35. Calamari appetizer was really good, not chewy or rubbery at all. Had the Seafood Fra Diavola for an entree which was really excellent.
Definitely a keeper and a pleasant change from our "R's" experience.

Went last night and enjoyed it a lot. Service was great and food was excellent. I had a grouper special that was outstanding! The menu isn't the standard pasta and cheese stuff (they do have some, but it's not the bulk), but more of what I would call Northern Italian. Fish, veal, chicken, and creamy pasta stuff. Between Rustico for this and La Fontana for the great cheesy pasta stuff, we have Italian covered here

My name is Tom. My wife and I recently ate at Rustico's. My wife is from Naples, she has family there and speaks fluent italian. I don't know where you get your Italian food knowledge from but, this place can't beat La Fontana.La Fontana is the most authentic restaurant in Kent Island. My wife Maria thinks its the best around.

We haven't been there yet, but look forward to trying them out. For what it's worth, I've been told to make reservations, and when you go .... ask for Jennifer's section. She is the best !

We went the other night, not crowded, great service, great food......ate too much! LOL I prefer it over LaFontanas. Will definately go back!!! I had the shrimp liguini with clams, yummy!! Daughter had quattro forgagio.
Of all the Italian Resturants I have eaten at in Italy there hasn't been any close to my experience in the states including LaFontanas it's good...but thats it. Rustico ditto...it's good I like it better than the others....

I sell medical equiptment. It often takes me to Rome which they have good hard working Doctors. I visit different sections of the country and each specializes in different items. Ive been to Alfredo's in Rome the inventor of fettucini alfredo. I've been there several times. If anyone has been there to see it, it has many pictures of famous people all over the world on the walls. The closest thing to that is La Fontana. One that stood out in my interest was the picture of Ronald Regan. I would advise if anyone visits Alfredo's if traveling in Rome. The closest thing the United States has to that is La Fontana.

You're including Little Italy in Baltimore? No knock on the place, but it's no different than most of the local hole in the wall Italian places in every town. I don't see any significant difference between La Fontana, Squisito, or Mama Lucia's in Annapolis. Pasta, cheese, tomato sauce. Very simple.

davieq, there is no Little Italy in Little Italy, most of the restuarants there are second or third generation. I would suggest that you go to NYC or Brooklyn's Little Italy, where you can find people working, shopping and speaking italian. Little Italy may have once been like that 30-50 years ago, but now it is just a tourist attraction, there are no more immigrants from Italy that live there now. I suggest that you do some research before you say things. Ciao, Tom and Maria

Went to Rustico's on Saturday evening. The food was fabulous! I'm Italian and it is so close to the food I remember my mother and grandmother's cooking. My hubby and I will be back!

We have been there for both lunch and dinner. Firstly, you will know that this lovely place is owned an operated by Italians. From entering, there was always someone opening the front door for us. A true sign of elegance and customer service. My husband had calamari for lunch and I had their Roma Pannini! Excellent !!! The roasted potatoes with garlic and olive oil, yum yum yum. VERY fattening, but well worth the taste. FYI, the service is superb. Rustico has hired the best from another local restaurant. Jen, Karen, and Cassie. They are ladies who are quick on their feet. Service with a smile and very efficient ! Bon Appetito !

We went back AGAIN today for lunch. Every table was full in the dining room. I love this place ! And for those of you looking for a great cream of crab soup, it is there. The soup has a sherry reduction and it is loaded with alot of crabmeat. Unlike other places that you take you spoon and try to find the crab. I can assure you, no one will be dissapointed dining there.
