The only "Sashimi" I eat are sardines out of a can. Sushi, I've tried it, didn't care for it.

We just got back from Ichiban - great experience! I had the 007 Roll (sweet potato, cream cheese, seaweed salad, & Avocado), the Tempura Roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, eel) and the Dragon Roll (shrimp, smoked eel, avocado & sweet eel sauce). Also had the Shumai (shrimp dumplings) and Gyoza (pork dumplings). The Mrs had the Grand Mariner tempura shrimp, Miso soup, and took part in everything else. We pigged out big time! All three rolls were fantastic especially the 007! The shumai was good and the gyoza was really freakin' good! the Miso soup was very good and the Grand Marnier Tempura Shrimp was outstanding! The service was very good and the waitress was very nice. We even got a complimentary dessert of Tempura Bananas and it was very good. I highly recommend this place and definitely will be in there a lot!

Was in there Thursday night (11/6). Liked it a lot! Tried the Miso soup, gyoza, and shumai on Rich's recommendation and was very happy that I did. Can't remember all the rolls and sushi that we ordered, but it tasted fresh and very good. Prices were very reasonable too, about $50 for more than two of us should have eaten.
Definitely worth trying, we'll be going back!

I had it last week and thought it was pretty good. I really think the sushi bar design is cool inside too.

I have been to Ichiban three times since it has opened and have loved it every time! The food is awesome! The service fantastic! My favorite, Crazy Tuna and there Roll Special last night was amazing! I can't get enough! After dinner we received orange and pineapple slices that was a perfect ending to a perfect meal! I recommend it!

We went there for lunch the other day and it was great. We had seaweed salad, miso soup, the pink lady roll, the 007 (highly recommended on this site) some eel and then the tempura banana for dessert. Everything was outstanding. Service was great also. We were ready to go back for dinner there. Don't forget to print of your 20% off coupon on here saved us 8.00

I went there about two weeks ago and was not impressed. The sushi was about the same price as everywhere else. The take-out took about 1/2 hour+ (Cali rolls and a couple other items) and beef terriyaki though they were admittedbly shortstaffed that night. The beef terriyaki was smaller than what my wife was used to and the taste was fair at best. The sushi rolls were only okay. Although, I am spoiled with the little place in Arnold (Yamamoto's sp?) which I hit every so often.
I will probably wait a couple more weeks and see if they have it together before making a final judgement.

No liquor license yet. We ate there for the 4th time last night and it was fantastic! We may have a winner if enough people get up there and support them. Give it a try!

My hubby & I went there the other night--2nd time for me--so yummy--had the spider (fried soft shell crab in sushi roll) the dragon (maybe shrimp?) and the something else with shrimp plus the steamed shrimp dumplings. Hubby ran up to the liquor store and picked up some beer and wine, the server hurried right over to provide a wine opener and glasses for us, as well as kept on top of any empty bottles. I am very new to the sushi scene but really enjoy this place. I hope they can stay in business. The only complaint (which really isn't) is that the servers hover around you a little too much--it is a small place so it isn't hard to get their attention if you need something.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a sushi samurai. I crave it and have hit restaurants from Vegas to Hawaii. My husband got me take out from Ichiban several weeks ago and it was so bad I couldn't eat a third piece of sushi. The salmon in the roll had a gray color to it once I took it apart to examine. I was so queasy after that. The miso soup was o.k. but I could do better at home. The seaweed salad was beyond tasteless, which I find quite difficult to ruin. I won't be going back because I'm scared to.
My favorite sushi in Maryland is at Geong Jung in Glen Burnie. The American name is The Palace. They actually have Korean, Japanese and Chinese food. Usually that would worry me when they have so many "specialties" but the service rocks, the prices are good and the food is fresh as can be.

I guess I will throw my hat in as well. I too am a "sushi samurai" (lol... I like that a lot) and make it a point to try just about any sushi any where...so, I gave em a try..../sigh My experience was almost exactly the same as "nordy". I went for lunch...and ordered something simple and familiar figuring that would be the easiest way to see how they stacked up...yellow fin tuna...not hard at all...but wow...um.... FIRST....it was lukewarm...I should have known...SECOND...it was slimy to the touch...THIRD...I only managed one piece (barely) due to the fact that it had such an overwhelming "tuna in a can" taste and smell I knew there was something bad wrong with it.... The rules I hold tight to for sushi/sashimi are: 1) fish intended for sushi/sashimi should always be kept very cold and be served FRESH 2) it should NEVER be slick to the touch, 3) yellow fin tuna when prepared well, NEVER tastes like "tuna in a can" it doesn't even come CLOSE. The seaweed salad WAS extremely bland and tasteless...I also found this remarkable as I have gotten a good seaweed salad before from what some might consider a "gas station" venue... Yea, unless I hear otherwise, I won't be going back. However, that place in Glen Burnie has now made my "must try" list Dang...now I am hungry....lol
