1-5 already, shockingly predictable isn't it. High hopes dashed once again.....maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised in a few weeks.
So glad the Baysox can pull off a regular winning season.

Yea, I don't get my hopes up anymore. Year after year they disappoint. At least last year they waited until mid-season to meltdown.

1-7 now, the plan is working. I love the Orioles...but something needs to be done....or some people need to be fired. How depressing for them....on top of all the fans being disappointed.

1-8 now, I'm done with harping on that.
Talking about owners.....how does it work when you have an owner, then the CEO, the General Manager and finally the Coach of the team.
Does that scenario of hierarchy have anything to do with the failure of a lot of professional sports teams?

I think you need to hold some accountability to the players. They have been playing this game since they were knee high to grasshoppers.... Yea, a good coaching staff and leadership plays into the equation some..... but come on..... They need to forget about what's going on in the owners box, their next contract, if they are going to be featured on the sports news or how much they are going to make on that commercial and start focusing on playing as a team, and work out their issues with pitching, hitting, fielding and whatever!! There is a lot of talent on that team, they just need to believe in themselves....No amount of coaching is going to that..... They will start believing in themselves when the fans start believing in them in stead of knocking them down at every turn, even if they deserve it!!!
So, I am pollyanna, and seriously, even though I claim to be an Orioles Fan, I don't know all the politics and issues everyone seems to have with the front office, and I could care less, all I care about is the 9 guys on the field is getting the job done.... How to make that happen, I don't know.... But still some of the responsibility falls on the players shoulders as well....
They just need to get their head out of wherever and focus on the inning that they are in......

I like Trembley, but I worry for him. Can't believe they are having this terrible a start...............hope they start to gel soon!

Apr 20, 2010 2:35 pm US/Eastern Ripken Releases Statement About Joining The O's
BALTIMORE (WJZ) ¯ Cal Ripken has released a statement addressing rumors about his possible return to baseball and the Orioles in a front office position.
Ripken issued the following statement following a report by Fox Sports that Orioles owner Peter Angelos didn't want Ripken on board because he was fearful Ripken would get all the credit for the team's success.
"In my baseball experience, rumors and stories seem to break when things aren't going well. Let me address recent media reports.
"First I want to say that Mr. Angelos never said that he didn't want me to get credit for any success that the club might have. That's just not true.
"I have had a very good relationship with Peter for a long time. He has been an advisor to me, a great supporter of my foundation and it is because of him that we have an Orioles affiliate in Aberdeen.
"I have met with Andy and Peter on a number of occasions to discuss many subjects. Ultimately our discussions have turned to baseball, the Orioles and me. I have enjoyed those talks very much, and yes, the subject has been broached about me potentially joining the organization. I look forward to those talks continuing.
"I have been consistent in my statements about a return to baseball since my retirement in 2001. With my son Ryan approaching the end of high school in a couple of years I have been thinking more seriously about a return to the big league game. I am more excited now to explore all opportunities and find the right situation that could lead me to the next phase of my life."
Ripken, 49, is a Hall of Famer and earned the title "Iron Man" for playing in a record 2,632 straight games.
The Orioles have suffered through 12 straight losing seasons since reaching the playoffs in 1997. They are currently 2-12.

1 - 8. Major League 5: Baltimore The plan is working. They're still losing, attendance is down.....it is just like the movie.....well, except for the ex-stripper owner. Maybe we they can get Carlie Sheen to star again in the Baltimore Orioles version since he's leaving Two and a half men now.

Being swept by the Yanks didn't make me happy, but I'm with you, Eine....positive thoughts!!! (either that, or maybe some folks packing their bags for a trip down to double or triple A).

The All-Star game has come and gone, which means it's mid-season. So, the Orioles are about to turn the corner right? Not..........the Blue Jays beat them today 10-1 to cap a 3 game sweep.

32 - 73
I'll paraphrase the managers line out of the movie Bull Duram I think is appropiate.
"How we ever won 32 games, I'll never know. This is a simple game..........you hit the ball, you catch the ball, you throw the ball. You got it".
