I'll third that, he does great work at a good price. He did a repair and painted the transom on my last boat. Summer is a good time to get work done, don't wait til the end of the season to get stuff done.
I know this post is old, but I thought it would be worth saying Dave Childs is not the way to go. While he is knowledgeable, and is capable of doing good glass work, he is no business man. Gave him my boat in January with a April 1st end date, couple days before april all he had done was take my boat apart in 3 pieces and make it unusable. Then I came back a week later and he had a Mexican stripping it. 1 month later, it was still untouched. Every week after that he kept saying he was only 7-14 days away from finishing, and said he had 500 hours in the project which was bull crap. Finally come mid August, I just took the boat and he is still demands money, when experts say he probably has 80 hrs in it. His pricing isn't bad, he just doesn't work. Come to find out he is the type of guy that gets up whenever he gets up around 9:30 am, gets to work right about lunch time, leaves several times for coffee, then everyday hits the Jetty for happy hour. Even with us arguing with him, threatening with a lawyer, nothing bothers/motivates this guy. AND WE PAID HIM THOUSANDS UP FRONT!!!!!!! Been telling people about his guy and not many have had good experiences with him.
While we have no problem with his work, the problem is he hardly works. Unless you don't care and don't mind not having your boat for two years he's fine. The business is a joke and Dave is better off working for somebody other then himself. I highly don't recommend. But if you want to set up a meeting, good luck during regular business hours, but you can meet him at the Jetty at 4pm till whenever.

Whoa...the majority of this post is inappropriate.
If you have an issue with the price, the quality of the work or time frame that it was to be accomplished in is one thing, but to attack a person's start schedule, coffee breaks, happy hour or what ever else is not right...let alone the mexican comment thing. This whole post seems to boil down to the boat not being done when you were told it would be ready....I have experienced delays and unmet completion dates with every boat type repair business in the area...whether fiberglass, canvas, painting, engine, detailing, electronics, you name it...it goes with owning a boat. Maybe yours is way longer then it should be, maybe. But, I don't know the repairs you were having or surprises that may have been found which usually also happens with boats...but the personal attack is uncalled for.
