I need a couple estimates to know what I'm up against,
About a 90' pier, 100' of bulkhead, and I need a pressure treated retaining wall replaced- preferably with blocks......
And Probably about 90 steps...... Currently a concrete pad with railroad tie on the outside edge...
Who to call?

I'd try the local "go to guy" William Snyder first since he's on KI. He did my rip rap 8 years ago along with various stone driveway projects over the years. Best price around and a good guy. I would assume he does marine work on western shore, not sure though.
Snyder Construction: 410-604-0109
Be prepared if you have never dealt with marine dock and shoreline work..... it's not cheap. Plus, you will need permits, county definitely and possibly U.S. Army Corps ones unfortunately.

Bailey Marine Construction, Inc. Easton, MD 410-822-2205. IMHO, the very best in the business & they do charge for it... Apple Marine Construction, Trappe, MD 410-476-4500. In 2005, we had a large project and Apple did the work for us. 15 slips, all new bulkhead, dredging, back-fill...it took almost a full year. We (our family and our 14 neighbors) were more than satisfied with the work. That was 5 years ago and things can change. Send me a PM if you are considering Apple. GOOD LUCK!

Water Lady, dredging and back fill.....what was that permitting process like?
The Corps held up my permits and it would be delayed just to do rip rap because of the colonial bird nesting time of the year. OK, I give. What's a colonial nesting bird and the reason I inquired back.........
Eagles are colonial nesting birds and they don't like the noise.

MJ - The permitting process...well, it's kind of like childbirth...the mother has a tendency to forget the pains of labor once the baby arrives... The process took about two years and it was a nightmare. Fortunately, for our project, one of our neighbors had a connection with someone at the Army Corps of Engineers and that really was a help. Don't get me wrong...no special favors or anything like that, but he was able to help keep our documents from getting lost in the paper shuffle... As difficult as it was, it was a really cool experience. If there were any colonial nesting birds in the area at the time, they are long, long gone now. There were many days I would have given my right arm to leave with them! The noise and vibrations were nerve shattering at times.

Shawn & Eric Horney 410-490-7408 or 410-827-7927. They do work on the western shore. I recommend them, tell them what you need done and see if they can do it for you.

Chessie Piling and Pierworks Mike Listorti 410-440-6704
They did my pier and bulkhead and did a great job. They have a company that handled all the permits, painless but took a while.
Highy recommended

Called them, couldn't talk as they were busy, they called me back in a decent time, we talked, I got a ball park estimate to get started, sounded like good people.
