i've always used Control & they have always been good to us! Never used family, so i wouldn't know. But I like the fact that I can call Garney (i think that's how you spell his name) and get prompt service. I've never had to wait days to get someone out - they were always there that day or if i called late at night, the next am...

Not pointing out anyone. I find it a little surprising that people don't have an hvac person until there's a problem with their system. Sure, you can change filters yourself.....but, don't people have their system checked out every year or two or so to check readings and check performance.....do a pm service?

I would have to agree with chickennecker. Family Heating does great work. Very reliable and honest.

I had one but had to change after the "poke & hope" method of parts changing didn't fix it numerous times. It's the popular HVAC oufit on here. Paid for a service call without finding the problem (might have been two) Paid for a transformer + installation Paid for a fan motor + installation When I called them after discovering a fan relay problem (google search) on my units, THEY KNEW ABOUT IT. I found the part online and I fixed it myself for less than $50. I've since found another guy for my service Everyone has someone they like, just remember it's OK to change.

If you just need an AC cleaning, I remember seeing something from Comfort Air that an AC cleaning would be FREE - you just had to write a check for $79 (I think that was the amount) to ARF. Or maybe it was to Chesapeake Cats and Dogs? I just saw it within the last month because I remember thinking I would have done that if I hadn't already paid for my yearly maintenance. If I find where I saw this, I'll post it. Thought it was a great idea.
