My father LOVES, LOVES, LOVES Italian food. I will be taking him out for his "retirement dinner" in September. I am not concerned about the price, I just want excellent food. What restaurant do you suggest?

That's easy...No Brainer...RUSTICO in Downtown Stevensviile just over the bay Bridge, first exit...go left. Absolutely Awesome!!! See their menu at www.rusticoonline.com

By FAR - Osteria on Main Street in Annapolis. Northern Italian fare and amazing. Sunday they have a $15 lunch menu that's well worth it - and the Veal Raviolis in white wine sauce when on special is OMG good. Pasta is all made in house too!

I pass Rustico everyday and have yet to go there!! (shame on me). Scossi's and Osteria I have never heard of and I was also told to give Carpaccio's and Maria's a try. ~ Wow decisions, decisions! Thanks for the input.

I'd skip Maria's - I had a lousy experience with service there and the food was so-so as well. Same owner as Mangia which is terrible. Carpacio is very good - Same owner as 4 Seasons Bistro in Stevensville which is also excellent. Rustico is the same owner as Luna Blue on West Street - a lot of people like them for basic Italian fare. Definately try Osteria if you're in Downtown Annapolis though - very good Northern Italian food.
