True Value (by Safeway) has some cheapy's that are FAST! They still had stacks of them the other day. For next year, just get a decent one online.

Looks like tread / track marks. Think the crane used to drop the new deck in is different than the top of the bridge, due to the lower clearance level. Dunno....could be lowest bidder. Those "tread/track marks" are where the deck attaches to the bridge girders. After the deck section is placed, they are filled w/ non-shrink grout. If you look at the sections that have not been removed, you will see that same pattern. American Bridge had to locate each one and remove the concrete from around the anchor so the section can be removed.

You ever watch sausage being made? They are not done yet, folks. My understanding is that after all of the deck sections are in place and attachment slots (those holes you see) are grouted, the entire area (thru-truss) will get fine-milled. I never had to fine-mill my sausage.......... I was referring to how it's best not to watch and to just enjoy the end result. The sections of the thru-truss portion are completely different than those of the suspension portion, too.

Denise Hershberger, the Principal at KIHS, is the best there is in this County. That doesn't say much about our education system then. I've spoken with her on several occasions regarding other issues and it's like talking to a wall.

Why do they need to have a cell phone in school anyway? It's SCHOOL. School is for learning. They should leave their cell phones in their locker or vehicle.

I sOOOoooo wished I didn't have my hands full at the moment he went by our house.......quote] I presume you were unloading pavers? ;D

I would be VERY careful with some of these companies. My neighbor got royally screwed by his power company (not Delmarva Power) last year. I forget which one and he has since moved out. He was getting $450 bills in the early spring!! Mine was like, $120 and I've got about 800 sf on him.

Thought you folks might like to see this: power-save1200.com/1200.htmlThese are designed to decrease the initial load requirement and stores it, for equipment with motors such as, refrigerators, fans, heat pumps, garage door openers, computers, etc. My BIL, who does primarily commercial electric service work, has been installing a LOT of the commercial units recently for hospitals and for Sams and Walmart. Every little bit helps.

I don't know if you have taken care of the glass issue as of yet, but if not you may want to give Zelco's a try in Annapolis. www.zelkos.com/Sorry, but Zelko's sucks now! They used to be really good and then within the last couple years their management has just gone down hill, big time. And you WILL pay top dollar if you choose to use them.

I leave for work about the same time all the kids in my neighborhood are standing on the side of the road waiting for the bus. NONE of them are dressed properly for standing around in freezing temperatures. Yeah that cracks me up!! It's 18 deg. and the kids are dressed in shorts and a short sleeve T-shirt. What a bunch of idiots! Not the kids, so much as the parents who allow their kids to go out like that!

"A heat pump sucks under 30 degrees. It uses electric strip heating to increase the heat."
Frank, it depends on what type of "back-up" you have. The most efficient use of a heat pump is with propane back-up.
A tip for those folks with 2 story, one zone systems, install some dampers in your branch lines, near the trunk, to allow you to control how much of each area gets air flow. My house is a 2 story on a crawl space and my furnace is in the crawl space. Each fall and late spring I change the damper settings. Example: Spring time: more cool air goes upstairs (and travels down) . Fall: More warm goes downstairs (and rises). Only takes 5 minutes but saves a LOT of $$.

Pretty sure that property still belongs to the Tanner family. You might want to be careful fooling around on other people's property. Some folks around here don't take kindly to that. Just because its abandonded, doesn't mean you can come and go as you please. It isn't your land. For real!

I had American Glass come out and look at it, they said they wouldn't be able to just replace the glass and would have to replace the entire frame for over twice the first quote I got just to do the glass... sounds like they just didn't want to fool with taking the old glass out to be honest. I find it kind of hard to believe that you wouldn't be able to replace glass in a window... kind of like saying I need to buy a new truck since I have a flat tire? Thats why I suggested replacing the sash, too. It is a tedious and time consuming (more $$$) process to remove the glass from the sash of Anderson unit without screwing it up. Replacing the sash is a 2 minute process.

I use American Glass for all of my shower enclosures and mirrors. Very reasonable. You may want to consider ordering a replacement sash, too. Might be cheaper since the labor portion is all but eliminated.
