It's been quite a while since I've been up to Centreville and I was wondering what is in the building where Hillside used to be? Also if it is a restaurant, what type of food do they they offer?

As far as I know...nothing is in there yet. At least the last time I got gas there was nothing in there...The building looks like it is in such disrepair...a shame...

The restaurant side is empty - the market side is still open - the Indian couple that runs it makes a great curry. The gas station has also opened a mini-mart by the gas pumps. It is very mini. I can't see any restaurant making it there - absolutely no ambiance, overlooks a gas station - they need to rethink the whole building.

Actually, I think the right kind of place could make it there just fine. The last operators certainly had the wrong vision.. even the name was ridiculous "Centreville Saute'" Plus, they never did have staffing or service for even a hamburger.. And before that, the old Hillside was a popular hangout for lots of folk until the food quality, service, and most importantly cleanliness went downhill. The last visit for one of my friends was when dining downstairs they sat and watched the mice running around on an adjacent table.. :/ It just needs to be a simple comfort food and beer joint. Service is key. Service is key. Did I say service is key?? You can't expect people to come back to your restaurant when the food is bad, it takes a long time to get it, and the server is drunk or on drugs.. true experience. Best regards, BC

Best regards, BC I think you are right BC...A Pub would make it there...with some great pub food. There are a few competitors in town..but because of the gas station they could pick up extra business from travelers...
