Three days calling and can't get a call back. "Ian" is my rep and will call you right back. The girl today said "We were in your neighborhood yesterday dropping off trashcans" Really? Would have been nice to get a call back on Monday. She did apologize for no one getting back to me and said her manager would call me as soon as she got off the phone. That was 8:35am, it's now 10:00. Don't know if I'll make the switch or not!

I asked about the recycle container but can't remember if it was a 96 gallon (std size for trash) or 64 gallon. It was not going to be a small bin.

Well, at $18/mo without fuel surcharges, and a recycling bin that large, I think we will be switching when our contract ends Aug 1st.
Have Chesapeake now, and over-all can't complain (except for about once every two months when they forget to get our trash) and the lack of recycling

Is your recycle container the same size as the trash can or just the small crate? I would like to recycle with my trash but I could fill the crate in two days. I was told when i signed up the recycle container is the same size and the trash can, so i am assuming they are both big.

I talked to Ian over there this morning and was told the same info that everyone else here is saying. Trash pickup every week, recycle every other week. Containers are large wheeled cans and both the same size. $54 up front for the first 3 months and then billed for the following. No fuel charges, etc. So we signed up and supposedly the first time will be July 4th so I'll let you know what we think.

Well, I'm on week 2 of having Bates and I already had a problem. This week included recyclables. They took all of my recyclables but didn't touch the trash in the large bin. It was only 25% full but I see no reason why they wouldn't take it. I tried calling but they were already closed by the time I got home and noticed the problem.

Bates took a ton of stuff for me again. I had a full trash can, full recycle bin, and then 2 giant boxes (one that held patio furniture) full of other recyclables. They took all of it. I couldn't be happier so far.

They should be using a separate truck. Check your mailbox.

I spoke with Bates Trucking. There was supposed to be two different trucks. The trash truck missed my house. They apologized and stated it would never happen again.

They definitely use two trucks, they picked up my trash and recycling this morning with both trucks back to back. Have used them for a month or so (since I saw the original post on here). I have no complaints at all. Thanks! No more maggots in my jeep from my saturday morning dump runs!!

We called Chesapeke and they told us that they do not do recycling, then we went with Bates for similar price for both.

Looked into switching from waste management @ $85.00/quarter to Bates. Called WM 1st and they said they would not lower their rate, so I ended their service. Bates said their rate would be $76.00/Qtr with no guarantee rate lock, includes recycling but bulk items at an extra charge. Looks like their rates have jumped since the summer promo. I will check Chesapeake to see what their rates are tomorrow. Will probably just use the dump until a better offer comes around.

I've had the Bates flyer on my fridge since JULY wanting to switch. When they came out the first time, I had JUST made my quarterly payment to Allied. If you cancel with them, no money is refunded for that term. So, I had to wait until my term expires, which is Oct 2. I was literally going to call Bates TOMORROW. That rate hike by Bates is a bummer for people who were locked into a quarterly service at the time of their special. SHould at least have it go on for more than a couple months!!!!!!!!
