Sounds great, but here's a BLS job statistic I haven't heard mentioned this week. The graph makes the current jobs situation more dramatically clear than just a list of numbers. Average (Mean) Duration of Unemployment research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/UEMPMEAN

There's millions of private sector jobs connected to those industries. Funny you use Aerospace as your example? Obama Tells NASA to Improve Muslim Relations? NASA's typically background role as a force in international diplomacy suddenly jumped to the foreground when NASA administrator Charles Bolden told Al Jazeera Television that President Obama had directed him to help improve U.S. relations with Muslim nations. In a July 2 interview, Bolden told Al Jazeera's Imran Garda that when he took over at NASA, Obama had directed him to "find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and math and engineering." Citing substantial contributions to the International Space Station by Russia and China as an example, Bolden added, "It is a matter of trying to reach out and get the best of all worlds, if you will, and there is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim (nations)." usgovinfo.about.com/b/2010/07/07/obama-tells-nasa-to-improve-muslim-relations.htm

Grova Obama didn't cause it he just made it far worse. IMHO the route of it started on 9/11 and accomplished exactly what they wanted....to put our economy in the tank. George

George I largely agree but I think the plan was to kill our free market economy. The unintended side effect was George Bush set things in motion of a huge increase in government defense and security spending that was poorly thought out and executed. Problem is Obama is unwilling or unable to fix, opting instead to either add to it or convert poorly allocated dollars to other poorly thought out and executed ideas. We're in lose-lose.

I'm just remembering the the 2010 elections when the GOP took power under the guise of jobs and the economy. John Boehner "We're going to have a relentless focus on creating jobs." 2010 So tell me...name ONE piece of legislation they have put forward to help with that. Just one. You might not be a Republican but to put to put all the blame on one man and not see that there's lots of politics in play is crazy.

Congress has failed to pass a budget. The President doesn't pass it, Congress does. I'm not defending Obama, and I'm not giving him an excuse either.....because they're all at fault for this mess.

And I guess that's my point...I by no means think he's the best thing since slice bread but the BS that has gone on since he took office when our country has been at its knees is crazy. If a certain side had decided to play nice we as a country would be a lot better off right now.

Didn't he have a democrat majority in congress his first two years? He could have done anything he wanted. He just didn't. mj wrote he submitted a budget every year and couldn't get it passed. Again, why not? Republicans couldn't block it. It was his time to put everything into motion he wanted to do, but he didn't do it. Why?

But he didn't...that's been the "Fox News" talking point but in reality he had about 5 months of a filibuster proof majority. Since that time he's been blocked at every turn.
