Nice early dinner on Saturday evening. Crab Chesapeake was excellent as was the crab cake with lots of crab meat. Veggies were done nicely and seasoned well. crab chowder was excellent as was the caesar salad. No complaints regards to food. Service was just fine for soft opening, what you would expect, some note/list checking along the way but super friendly, nicely attentive and a neighborhood laid back feel.
Lastly, as the owners/chef were not there when we dined for the greatest of reasons...Congrats (hopefully by now) on the new addition to your family!! I hope mother and child are both happy and healthy!!
Looking forward to many more nice meals, with a full menu to explore! (I added you to Foursquare, hope I got the info right)

We went Thursday evening. Mostly boaters from Castle there. We had crab soup, chicken wings and the burger. There was a limited menu and no happy hour pricing. I withhold my review since this was advertised as a "soft opening"

Went last night. Our waitress was great, but the food was mediocre and far to expensive for the taste and amount. Hopefully it gets better with time.

Have not been there yet, but does anyone else think that "Shells Yes" is a weird name for a restaurant? Especially one specializing in crab?

I agree with this poster. Since this was a soft opening maybe I should post my thoughts. 1. Hamburger was great but at 14 bucks that will be a hard sell. Sado upstairs sells a rocking Kobe burger for $2 less 2. Soup arrived just warm and had to be sent back to be rewarmed. It was on the sweet side and overpriced at $6 for the portion. 3. Chicken wings $6 for 6 smallish wings, they were lost on the platter. They were just average. Might pass for 10 for $5 but not a buck a piece. 4. No happy hour but rumor has it they will have one soon. I wish them the best but they will need to conduct a market review to see what others are charging on the island. With boating season ending they will need to become more completive to get people to come in. Went last night. Our waitress was great, but the food was mediocre and far to expensive for the taste and amount. Hopefully it gets better with time.

My wife and I went their with our two kids. Waitress very nice and explained it was a soft opening. Crab dip was decent but my wife didn't care for that style (cold by design) and flavor though there was nothing wrong with it and had adequate crab within just not what she prefers. French fries ($4 I think) are VERY good and seem to be fresh cut or at least taste like it. Crab cake was excellent. Crab cake meal was complimented by string beans with some corn kernels on it with it which had great flavor. Price was $19 for the one crab cake meal...a bit pricey but not ridiculous. Beer was cold and delicious...had a Fat Tire.

Complaining about a GREAT burger? It would be better cheaper and crappier? Good logic.
Please stay away, I'm looking for quality! Too many mediocre quality restaurants around already.

We had a good meal the other night.... Food was delicious...portions could have been bigger for the price, doubtless the quality was great, but the portions were just small enough to question the value. The wait staff was EXCELLENT! Drinks stayed filled, and they were all smiles....

Stopped in tonight for a drink!! Well the bar was not fully stocked and it seemed very dirty all around, Bath rooms were OUT of service, thats right not working at all!!!!!DJ was not very good and music was way too loud. A few friends that were there said the food was good and the service was OK. While we are sitting having a nice conversation a drunk sloppy local comes over tries to buy my lady a drink and be very disrespectful to her. Don't think I will be returning does not seem to be my cup of tea!!! Good luck hope they take this as constructive criticism and they actually last longer then the last bars at that location did!!!!!

I have had my boat there for 12 years now. Snooty NO in my experience. Willing to let random people use very expensive private property we all pay a lot of money for for free............well maybe not so much. The marina is not a public park. If the restaurant wants to allow boats to tie up they need to rent a slip like everyone else. Do you let people use your driveway to park? Any place to tie up a small boat? George I don't think so George.. that is a snooty bunch in that marina!!

Forgot - for 12 years that location has had a captive audience at the marina and for 12 years the businesses have failed one by one by one

I don't think so George.. that is a snooty bunch in that marina!! Sounds like a pretty "snooty" reply to me!! Take no offense.. my comment was from my typical hostile paraphraser.. I guess what I should have said was there is no place to tie up your boat. The marina is private for slip owners and renters only. In fact, even if you could tie up at the bulkhead near the restaurant you would have to climb the fence or walk around to the gate.. I have friends that live in the community. I have come in with my boat before and got the stares and glares for daring to even be in there floating around and tie up for a few minutes at the end of the bulkhead just to say hi to my friends. I have been warned not to leave my boat, it will be towed to the Baltimore City police department impound lot!!! Now when is the next "J'" Dock party??

I agree that the name is really dumb. Haven't checked it out yet, though! Wish them the best of luck.

I would try it again...I don't judge any restaurant by one trip especially one during a soft opening. The trip I had there wasn't bad so I would like to see how they do on a second.
