I just realized that I started posting my company info here a few months ago without ever Introducing myself. My name is Dan, I'm a Queenstown local and the Owner of Wye Computers. I've been working in the IT field on and off since I was in high school and before that I was always the guy tinkering with any electronics I could get my hands on. If any of you ever have questions about some computer issue you're having I'd be glad to answer them for you. You can send me a message, comment here, email or post on our Facebook anytime. I am also putting a blog together to help with the most common computer problems people have. You can check that out at -link removed by Mike- I'll also be doing some hiring in the near future as we expand into video surveillance systems, so if you know anyone who would be interested let me know

Hey, Dan. I have some old tower PCs and a Sony monitor taking up space in my garage. Can I get them over to you for recycling in some fashion? Some of the parts may be worth something to you.
THANKS, BurnerBill

Hi Dan. What would you recommend to help me extend the range of my wireless router? I've got a dual band Netgear N router that works great when close, but not so much on the opposite side of the house. Should I use an old wireless router to set up an access point or repeater, buy something else, or rewire the house to put the router closer to the center of the house? Input appreciated.

Hey BurnerBill, Yes I can recycle those PCs for you. Give me a call some time and I can swing by to pick them up (410) 490-7509. Jmiller427, The easiest way would be to use a wifi repeater like this one here. You can also convert an old router into a repeater but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some intermediate networking skills. For the best results, position the repeater in the middle of your home between the router and the far end of the house.

THANKS, BurnerBill The Bats Neck dump has a walk in metal container just to the left when you go back to the landfill area, that is just for computers and components to be recycled. There is no charge for anything recyclable. The bad thing is they won't let you go in to look for something. All I needed was 2 small screws to mount a Laptop CD drive in the mini entertainment computer I had just built. None of the stores locally had them either, so I ended up having to buy a dozen on-line.

Dan, THANKS for the response. How about I swing by your place and drop them off around mid-day tomorrow, Sat. 11/9? I'll be heading to Queenstown to play golf and your location is a quick pit stop. I'll call in advance.
