Great new for those of us that hate Safeway and even more there manager. It is confirmed that Harris Tweeter will be here mid 2018 along with an I Max theater. It will be built directly to the side of the new FIREHOUSE in the field. Time to replace their PIS manger and send her home. Wish it was sooner. In my opinion she has ruined the store and the employee moral. Please express you opinions. For those of you that have not tried the one in Easton, you owe it to your self. Its worth the ride. My guess once this store is built Safeway will loose a ton of business or be forced to get another manager.

HT can't come soon enough!!! My wife started going to the Easton HT. She got tired of going to Safeway only to find they were out of this and out of that. And to hear her complain, and rightfully so, about their piss-poor produce section; it was getting old. Buh-bye Safeway!!

She says even the sale prices in Safeway are high and she will go to HT in Easton instead. Hopefully, the new HT will be a little larger than the one in Easton. I have two full-service HT in DC by my office and they are pretty nice.

I'm guessing this is probably false. Looked at the last few planning and zoning minutes, nothing. County Commish. meetings, nothing. I did hear about a WAWA coming to G ville. The current/former site of the Shipwrecked place on the north side of 50.

Not false, Spoke to the store manager at Harris Teeter and the date was even moved up. It's 100%. Nothing wrong with Safeway that a new store manager couldn't correct. From what I hear she is not very well liked by the employees. Bring back Bob the old store manager. Either way, they can't come fast enough. I even tried Food Lyon and to my surprise nicer and cheaper than Safeway plus there manger seems very nice. Just my opinion.

Curiosity kills the cat, I traveled to Easton to check out the new Harris Teeter. I was very impressed with this store a lot of different selections to choose from not just one brand. When one of the clerks asked if she could help me with anything I mentioned to her that it was my first time at this store and I told her I was from the Kent Island area. She immediately told me that a Harris Teeter was coming in 2018 to the Kent Island area. Take it what its worth and I did reply - "I'll believe it when I see it"

15,000 more square feet larger than the one in Easton. 65,000 total. Nothing wrong with Safeway other than higher prices than Fool Lion on an average, and a POS manager that can't get along with anyone including her employees. SHE needs to go. Just my own opinion. For those of you that have had issues with her please feel free to comment. Bring back the old manager! Shame he retired.

Same place where there was a proposed Giant Food years ago that never panned out. HT is a nice store in general. Hope it works out

So am I reading that plan correctly, and there will be only one entrance, and that off of what is currently a one-way? Or is it not one-way? I hardly ever go there so not sure... Seems like it should have entrances on both sides, though. And I guess they will need to put a traffic light right there opposite the entrance to the fire department? That might be nice actually because it's hard to get out of there as it is.
It would be nice to have another grocery option. I have not had any bad experiences with the Safeway manager, however. To be fair, I never deal with the managers... I talk to the cashiers and sometimes the stock people and/or pharmacy people. Seems to me like they have not had a lot of turnover.

Have a handicapped son that worked at the store, until the work environment got too hostile, all because the manager could not do her job. Lisiting to other workers myself, manager treats all the employee's like crap. We don't need people like that in are community!!

Spoke to an employee at the Easton Harris Teeter yesterday. He said the Kent Island deal fell through because the property owner of the proposed site changed his mind and decided not to sell. So according to him, there will not be any Harris Teeter on KI anytime soon.
