Does anyone know why they removed the playground and when a new one will be put in?

I don't have specific answers, but 'Installation of Love Point Park Playground' was on the Agenda of the Commissioners Meeting scheduled for yesterday. If they are involved it may be a while before it is completed and operational!

Nice. Remove it without any plan to replace it. Only a fool would do that. Oh wait, this is reminding me of something. Lol!

There is nothing in this thread to indicate that there is not a plan. There is nothing in this thread to indicate there is not some reason or merit for how things are being handled.

There is nothing in this thread to indicate that there is not a plan. There is nothing in this thread to indicate there is not some reason or merit for how things are being handled. And now we know that to some degree this project was in-fact badly mishandled, apparently removing and destroying or disposing of memorials that were a part of the old playground ... let's hope what was removed can be restored or recreated to whatever degree reasonably possible, out of respect for the families impacted.

It is being updated as ADA compliant. Horrible that they discarded the memorials/benches without informing the families involved.

Stop by there yesterday still not close to being done. Why is it taken so long to install the new playground?

Because Parks has no clue what they are doing. They didn't need even know it was a memorial playground, but they saved the sign that told them it was a memorial playground. jim Moran is the county commissioner on Parks. He tells me, a memorial playground mother, that parks is going to hold a meeting with the parents to rededicate the Park with help from the parents. No meeting scheduled yet but Parks is looking at doing a rock sculpture to place there for our kids. We didn't ask for a rock sculpture, but then again, Parks doesn't know that and they won't set up a meeting with us to hear us. The only thing that surpasses our County's ignorance is arrogance. It's sad. They claim it was for ADA compliance, so they rip out the handicap ramp? I have requested a list of the specific issues this playground had that was so bad it needed replacement. Still waiting on that list.
